UGGHHH!!!!! I am SO ******** pissed off right now! While my friend and I were walking our two dogs, I overheard a kid ask my neighbors if they wanted to fight their dog, Haze, with /their/ dog... I screamed my lungs out and told him they don't need to be fighting pitbulls and that they're sick-minded pieces of sh.it! After we walked around the block, all the kids were gathered together and said (happily) that they're going to fight the pits! And so I got REALLY pissed off and I went after them. They're lucky I didn't catch them b/c I would have done to them what they do to the pitbulls... There were also two parents of the kids sitting outside talking to someone in a car and my friend overheard them saying that it's not our bisseness and if it was our pits, it wouldn't be their bussiness... Which is true, but that shows that they actually /do/ fight their pitbulls. I want to do something, but WHAT? I have no proof, and I can't do anything, but I KNOW they're doing that!

My roommate came across a stray (min pin mix of some sort) in the streets. Out of the goodness of her heart she rescued him so he won't get run over, thinking that she can try to adopt him out later (she already have 3 cats and a dog). Then she found out he's diabetic and requires insulin shots twice a day. Because of that she's having a hard time finding anyone willing to foster or adopt him. Just wondering if anyone's willing to help.

He's a min pin, brown color, loves people, doesn't do so well with other pets - stare downs and lunges but he's never bitten any of her other pets. We try to discourage that behavior so he's a lot better now. He's a very quick learner. Seems like he's been abused by the previous owner. But he's doing much better at our place because we treat him nice. Thanks.

I have a male and female Siberian Husky. When I bought each of them I just filled out the papers and mailed them in with a check. They just had their first litter in April and I sent in the litter application to the ACA and got back a registration paper for each puppy. I am keeping 2 of the puppies and am wondering if since they are already technically registered under my name, do I have to send in the registration paper on them. I know that the people who bought my other puppys with have to so that the ownership is transferred from me to them, but if I am already the owner of these two puppys how does that work?

I wonder if any one knows their highest recorded speeds.

I heard that the whippet is faster, but it is difficult to believe as the greyhound is bigger and has longer stride. Also if whippets were faster they would have been used preferencially in regular racing

I read they are pretty attached to their families and sometimes they cannot identify the good and the bad intentioned strangers and attack in a routine occasion. Is that true they become out of control so quickly??

I am aware that neutering a male dog causes its testosterone to lower resulting in a fat lazy un-fun dog, does spaying a female dog cause any behavior changes? Or does it still act the same after being spayed? I am asking this as I have 2 male dogs and I'm adopting a female, I don't want them to have pups and I don't want to cruely neuter my male dogs.

this isnt so much a question as it is a statement. theres alot of owners out there like me who hand out table scaps as food for their animals. i started that when i first adopted my dog.. 3 months ago.. and eventually it got to the poin where she was only eatin table scaps. well today i took her to the vet because she stopped eatin and her liver, pancreas and kidney's enzymes are extremely high. they had to hospitalize my baby and my vet told me that if given another week or so, my dog could have died from organ failure due to working so hard tryin to digest human food. we all hear it is bad but some of us are hard headed and dont listen. this is just a statement saying please listen to what they say.. give your dog food that is made for them. dont be like me and end up almost killing your animal.

I've been told by several breeders that it's to preserve the breed. And when I can't afford one of their puppies they always tell me that there are many dogs in shelters. If that's true, why keep breeding? Dogs aren't an endangered species. I don't think they need help with preservation, though I could be wrong.

Sorry for the rant.

PS

I'm still looking for a puppy and I'm still in touch with several shelters in AZ. Hoping to adopt soon. :)
