try putting his bed on your bed. he might get used to it. Put him in his bed next to you. Then after awhile he might get used to it, and then you can move his bed to the floor. If he doesn't stay in his bed, just use tough love. Put him in a crate with his bed in it until he gets used enough to it so you can take the crate away.

I gave up on keeping the dogs out of the bedroom. They sleep on a small area rug next to my bed. Occassionally, one will jump on the bed with me. I don't think it is a bad habit. I am so used to it when one was in the hospital, I was so lost with out her!

As much as you want to have him be a friend, you need to let him know that you are in charge. He's showing dominant behavior by refusing to sleep in his bed. This could affect later training.
Be firm. You can try bribing him with comfy things, food, etc., but at some point you're going to have to put your foot down.

Aw! I love my dog too but I don't like when he sleeps in the bed with me. It's just uncomfortable because he'll sleep RIGHT UP AGAINST me and I'm afraid I'm gonna roll over on him one night lol. But I'm weak for puppies and sometimes give in. Otherwise...I'd put his bed outside of your room and close your door.

Keep him off your bed
every time he jumps up, pull him back down and stop him from any attempts to actually jump on it. Be the alpha, it works just fine, they get the point very quickly, no matter how long they have been sleeping on the bed

stick him in a crate with a nice blanky. make sure its big enough for him to turn around in. do not let the dog in the bed again because it will make it worse when you try to break the habbit. you may also try putting a stuffed animal in the crate with him for confort.

If he's turning 1 year old, it's already a habit.
