Please take your little dog to a vet for an accurate diagnosis.
I have a cat that had the exact same symptom, so I don't know if this would apply to dogs too, but it was diagnosed with a blood test. It was called eosinophilic granuloma dermatitis and is not curable but controllable with cortisone pills. I gave the cat the pills for about a week then stopped when it started to clear up. It completely cleared up after about a month and hasn't come back, so I stopped the cortisone. She slept on a heating pad all winter and the vet said that can aggravate the condition. I wash all her bedding every week so she doesn't get an infection. It may not apply to dogs but may be similar.

I have a shih tzu. Love the dogs!
I would check with the vet.
could be a few things:
rash from something outside
allergies (thats what happened with my dog...was allergic to grass)
bug bites

Best thing is to have a vet look your dog over, and run tests. It could be anything from skin allergies, some type of bug bite or infection.

sounds like mosquito bites, but I would suggest you take it to the vet. Don't endanger the life of your dog by following amatuer advice
