My roommate came across a stray (min pin mix of some sort) in the streets. Out of the goodness of her heart she rescued him so he won't get run over, thinking that she can try to adopt him out later (she already have 3 cats and a dog). Then she found out he's diabetic and requires insulin shots twice a day. Because of that she's having a hard time finding anyone willing to foster or adopt him. Just wondering if anyone's willing to help.

He's a min pin, brown color, loves people, doesn't do so well with other pets - stare downs and lunges but he's never bitten any of her other pets. We try to discourage that behavior so he's a lot better now. He's a very quick learner. Seems like he's been abused by the previous owner. But he's doing much better at our place because we treat him nice. Thanks.

look at petfinder.com, you can see all the adoption/ rescue organizations in your area. You should call some that are close to you and ask them. If its a special needs dog (diabetic and behavior) maybe its best that someone adopts him that can dedicate more time to him than you can. If you want to make a big commitment and take care of the dog you should take it to a behavior specialist because the behavior could be a big problem in the future, even if the dog seems to be better around you that doesn't mean the problem is solved. The last thing you want is for it to bite someone, you will get sued and the dog put down. You don't want to try to take care of him and then realize its too much for you and have to give him away 1-2 years later, its better you give him up for adoption now. Maybe you could even act like a foster home untill someone adopted him, that way you could take care of him untill you find somewhere better. Look on petfinder.com, maybe you can list the dog, or you can list the dog through another organization, and be the foster home too. Also look up "pit bull rescue" for your area. Ask advice from the rescue experts. Good luck.

PS. did you mean mini pinscher? - not mini pit?
well either way my advice stays the same, even a poodle can bite hard, especially a kids face.

PS. were you asking if you should adopt it? or if any body out here wanted to adopt it? either way try petfinder.com
