My 3 yr old MinPin has had skin issues since the day we brought him home at 8 weeks old. he unknowingly had demodectic mange which i have kept under control-many $$$$$$ later. and he also has some type of allergies that hit him in the late summer early fall every year. our vet recommended allergy testing for another 300 bucks....has anyone had their dog tested for allergies and are they accurate and helpful or just another expensive procedure that wont be worth it?

There was a bee (like a wasp) buzzing in the sliding glass door, and Rylee (4 months old) caught it and ate it! chewed it up! i was like NO don't eat it! She is fine, obviously, but what happened? did the bee die when she chewed it or not sting her? silly question, i know... but... my pups are like my babies!

I only have room for info about one of the dogs. I'll do a second question about our other dog. The first dog is Kip, he is a German Sheperd mix a little over a year old. When we got him he did not seem to have an itching problem. It is not fleas or the flea treatment. We changed his food to Science Diet for Sensitive Skin. It does not contain corn or beef. It has Omega fatty acids in it. We tried using a shampoo for sensitive skin, with hydrocortizone in it.
The vet said he has a German Sheperd as well and that they have very sensitive skin. He said use a shampoo with out soap in it (what does that mean?) and instead of using the handheld sprayer in the shower to bathe him, fill the bathtub and let him soak in plain water for 10 minutes then masssage the problem areas(which is all over) Also, Even if I fill my bathtub all the way up, the water will barely come up past his legs. So we paid $50 bucks for the vet to tell us to soak him in water.... any thoughts?

I have never done the training pad i have always done crate?
I have a13 yr old chihuahua that i got a couple of months ago and at night she uses the bathroom. I have tried everything from waking her up every 15 min gradually everyday later, trust me i have tried everything and this is kind of my last resort. she don't know how to wake me up. anyway if i was to put a puppy training pad down will this attract my other dog, who is extremely housebroken, to use this pad and then want to use in the house. and please no replys on i should get rid of her it was my parents dog and they passed away. so she is staying.

Its one of the most abusive things people do in the summer. We never hear how many die each year because of this barbaric practice.

I have 4 dogs and 2 cats in the house, and a friend who visits frequently (not because I invite him, he just stops in sometimes or he will call and say he's coming down and I say ok) when he comes of course the dogs are excited and smell him all over and rub on him to try to get him to pet them etc... He gets mad, tells them to lay down, quit sniffing him, get away from him etc.. Now my 1st instinct is to tell him that its my house (and theirs) so when he comes into MY home he has to put up with what is has to offer, on the other hand I wonder if I should be apologizing for their behavior which is actually very normal, they dont bite or jump or anything.

We picked up our Pomeranian puppy Friday and we can't decide on a name. You can see his picture on my yahoo 360. He is like a little teddy bear but we don't want the name Teddy or Bear. We want something that is different. Tried finding a good name on all of the websites that list dog names but had no luck with that. Anyone know of a good name for him?

My daughter is allergic to dog dander and my mother knows it. But she refuses to get rid of the dog. We live in the same house, so that is why it is such a big deal.

I would like a to switch to dog food that is all natural, with no by-products that will give my dog a long and healthy life. I am using Nutro, but I heard it is not that good. Please feel free to submit your answers.

Thank You

I got a white and red female boxer. Does anyone know if it is possible to breed her or not as she is white. I thought as long as the male I breed her with was red, that would be ok. Both her parents was red.

They do not seem to be having any ill effects. May be this is just proof that beagles really will eat anything. :-)

..or that I have too many animals.. keep in mind they are all rescues except one, fixed, very well fed, up to date on shots, on flea preventative, etc... so they are very well taken care of, I just took them all to the vet saturday for check ups and spent $300 on check ups, why are people so negative towards people who are trying to help give these pets a home. Like it bothers them that I have so many, even though they dont pay for thevet visits or food, I just want to tell them to shut up!
