I was told to go Online to find the proper way to use the copper sulfate that I can purchase at my local farm supply elevator.

This seems highly unusual. Although it may kill worms, it may well also kill your dog. Read more about copper sulfate before killing your dog:

You should not trust people online. You should ask your vet or a reputable pet store.

Copper sulfate is non-toxic to all animals and horticultural oil is non-toxic to most insects but kills most of the soft bodied ones through suffocation. You can also find it listed as an ingredient in most dry dog foods.

When you purchase it from the farm supply store, ask them they best way to apply it.

Who told you this? Were they trying to yank your chain or are they someone who know what they are talking about.
Go to a pet supply store. Online, try Drs. Foster and Smith. They have lots of stuff.
