Anyone know laws in Lousiana about Wolves??

Iam looking on laws about wolf dogs in Louisiana. Does anyone know of any or any website I can go to about Louisiana pet laws..

contact the local Humane society they will give you some resources as well as know about the pet laws
also contact the Louisiana Dept of natural Resources because they will have info about wolves...and i beleive they are on the endangered species list
one thing i do know is that the rabies vaccine is not considered effective for use with a "non-canine" species which would be a wolf
so in most states any "pet" wolf or wolfdog are not considered protected by the rabies enforcement if that animal were to bite someone even tho it is up to date with rabies vaccination it could be subject to death and not the usuall quarantine required for other dogs
i guess you take a big risk trying to have a wild animal as a pet and i do hope you find the information necessary

In most states you can NOT have a wolf hybrid animal. I have had wolf hybrids, and they do make good pets, but the problem that you have is people that don't understand wolves, and get freaked out and panic. Another problem that you will find is most vets will not treat them for anything. You have to be very careful as to what shots and how much you give them. Please check with the local animal shelters, humane society, ASPCA, SPCA on what the laws are in your area. Also check your township laws on exotic animals. Good luck.

In most areas you need a special permit and very exacting caging and habitat. Wolves do not make good pets and you should be very careful.
