I moved to Greensboro NC 7 months ago and am shocked at the lack of laws for dog owners. My neighbors have at times up to 11 pit bull dogs. They come and go . The poor dogs are not taken care of . They had 2 ft. short chains , dog houses that fell apart, standing in rain due to no shelter. No licence or shots are required in this city . The dogs bark all the time, they were living in filt. I called the board of health and the animal control . Conditions got better for a day and went right back to how they were. How can I get the city to make and INFORCE laws so people like my neighbors HAVE to care for their animals. I have some pretty gross pictures of dogs with open wounds and in the rain and mud . I feel sorry for the dogs and dislike for the city of Greensboro NC for their lack of laws and not fineing people who abuse the animals. NO fines. EVER, No mater WHat . Why should the dog owners change. They have no fines, so they just keep abuseing the dogs.

I have a dog that likes to run in circles, but every time I put it outside, it keeps running into the corners of my house. Any recommendations? I've thought about removing it's front right leg, but then it would continue to run in one direction and never come back...

She still eats twice a day but is almost blind and deaf and very thin though she wears a little fleece coat. She won't go outside to pee but does it all over the house.

I asked a question about my dog eating toxic foods - SOME of which I had given to him - and I got one of those replies and I've seen them in other questions. I know for a fact my dog eats what he wants and not only what I give him. I take him for walks he eats plants, he eats my clothes, he eats spiders. Now I didn't FEED him those things so how do I have control? Am I sposed to throw away all my clothes and kill all the spiders in the world?

Can I really be in total control, barring locking him in a cage forever and hoping he doesnt eat that?

We have a nearly 2 year old staffy and he's been eating chocolate, raisins and grapes all his life. He's only about a 15-17 inches tall and about 47lbs. I always knew chocolate was bad for him but he mostly eats white and milk NEVER dark, he loves choc chip cookies too. A while ago I used to give him all the raisins from my bowls of raisin bran and he loved chasing grapes to eat. Is this normal? He's never been ill from it and I've never seen signs of toxic shock. Aparently as little as 5 raisins could kill him, has anyone else had similar experiernces?

I have a 6mo old chipoo (chiwawa poodle mix) she is only 2lbs. and I'm scared to let her outside with out me. but i can t get her to go when we go out side. if i stay all day out side she will do her business out doors but if i just try to walk her for a while or let her out for a few minutes, she will come back in and do her business on the floor usely on the rug infront of the tub. I heard some where that most people just litter box train small dogs? would this be my best hope for a poop and pee less floor?

I was cleaning the bathtub this morning, I was in a natural state if you know what I mean LOL! Anyway, I was spraying on the scrubbing bubbles, and my dog mounted me, and held on and started you know. He even grabbed my sides w/ his paws, I freaked out and could not speak or move. What should I do about this behavior, did I do the right thing?

My dog is always, always a mellow dude. But tonight, of course, he's a nervous nelly. The fireworks outside are turning my 120lb rottweiler into a big baby! I love him and would like to help calm him down. Other than giving him a couple of benadryl tabs, what can I do?

The dogs just go places that I wish that they would not and I would like to just put a certain smell down to keep them out of the area. Of course I don't want to stink up the place so I won't like it either, but I still might want to know what the worse smelling item might be just in case the weaker ones only partially work.

I see a woman almost everyday with what i thought was 5 dogs. now i find out she has at least 7or8 dogs. they seem healthy. i just thought their would be to many in the car. and i have seen this woman's car with several dogs in it at a time. i should say that these dogs are not of the small or even the midsize fido models. they're huge like rottweillers etc. etc. also the car is what i would consider small for keeping that many dogs.
