My dog is afraid of thunder he always wants to be inside during a thunderstorm any suggestins of how i can get him to calm down

That's common among most dogs. This is a very scary thing for them. My dog hides under the bed and quivers the whole time. About all you can do is be there and reassure them with a little tlc. Hope that helps.

I saw on tv once in Australia. Doctor Harry would play a tape quietly at first of storms to the dog when the dog got use it he would turn the sound up until he was use to loud noises.

If it is so intensely serious maybe the vet can prescribe a nerve pill or tranquilizer, other than that just give the dog all of your attention and patience during the times when he is frightened.

i have a 12 year old golden retriever and she has always been afraid of loud noises. unless it is so bad the dog is hurting itself the only thing you can do is be there to comfort it and make sure it knows you will protect it.

dogs have never been used to thunder its just the way they are and i dont really think that there is anything much that you can do for your doggy on this subject just give him a hug of stroke him and he should be alright

go to a petstore they sell drops that will calm him down. or you can go online. check doctors foster and smith.com.i'm sure they can help you . good luck.
