do you think it would help to get the cat confortable with the new house if i caught one more? they are really tiny i think between 3-5 weeks. they grew up in the wild so do you think it would be better to keep one or catch another cat that is it's friend? (they all stay around eachother when in wild)

i foster bottle-fed orphan kittens for a no-kill shelter. i don't have a lot of experience, but i have raised one litter (from 10 days old), and another single kitten from 3 weeks. so here is my problem.

i have a kitten that is three and a half weeks old. he was left on a doorstep by a feral mom who got scared off (that's the story i got). he eats quite well from the bottle. in fact, he weighed a pound at three weeks. but he fusses all the time. i have had him since he was nine days old, and he has always been like this. he sleeps well in his rubbermaid tub with his stuffed animals and heating pad. but from the moment he is picked up, until he is put down again, he cries. except for when the bottle is in his mouth. he has been checked by a vet within the last few days, and they said he is healthy. i have tried everything i can think of. i burp him, keep him warm, wrap him in blankets, don't wrap him in blankets, snuggle him. he just doesn't seem happy.

Everytime my wife and I "get busy" the cat just hangs out in whatever room that we're in...

Typically, she doesn't hang out in the same room with us...unless, of course, we're getting busy...it's like EVERY time! What up?

I have a cat who I just took to the vet today, because he hasn't been eating or drinking for 3 weeks. They said that his liver was failing, and that he had to be put the sleep the next day! He purrs, and acts perfectly normal, and seems very happy, but he has lost 5 pounds in about a month, wich is not good at all. We are still deciding wheter we should put him to sleep or not, because who knows-he might just die from liver failures the next day! But I can't afford to be separated with him..........It's just too hard. I've had him ever since a was a baby little kitten, and I saved him from an animal shelter. I have mixed feelings about all of this, and it's just so hard to lose him........I have been crying all day, and i've been to depressed to even eat. I've been thinking about all this so hard, that I have a terrible headache, and I feel very light headed and noicious. I really need some advice. This is the hardest decision I have ever had to make........ PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I read in another post that someone gives their cat a bath. I thought that cats took care of cleaning themselves. I will wipe off the cat if he gets something on him. He is an indoor cat.

And plus I don't think my cat would enjoy the thought of taking a bath. Do you do it like you would a dog? Put him in the bathtub and scrub him down and then dry him off.

I've just never heard of this so I was just wondering...

I have three persians and one of them was injured really bad outside so I decided to keep them inside now, is this mean? I love them very much and I can not bear to have any one of them hurt again. They have a lot of room inside and their own room. Should I build something for them to hang out in outside? Please help.

how will feral cats that live in colonies not become victims of expired rabies and FVRCP vaccinations which are usually given at time of spay/neuter?it seems to be a double edged sword- if these cats do come in contact with a rabid animal or a cat with FELV/FIV,and are not properly vaccinated that they will die of disease-but if they aren't spayed/neutered there will be a never ending problem of feral/stray cats?any answers?

They have put him on prescrip food. We've always had dry food (the good stuff) out for the 2 cats to snack on whenever they want. So today vet says only this scrip wet food. It's really expensive, and my 2nd cat doesn't need it. So tonight I took all the dry food up and fed my 1st cat (the dominant one) his scrip food. Then I put him in a room and closed the door and put wet food out for my other cat, a total paranoid. She's been used to sorta sneaking to the dry food during the day to feed, and now she doesn't know what to do. When I tried to give her *her* dinner tonight, with the other cat locked up (bcuz he'll push her out of the way to get to it), she just bolted. How do I feed her where and when she's comfortable? We don't really have the option of keeping them separated during the day. Anyone faced this before? How do I solve this?

And no "get rid of one cat" or "I don't know" answers - I need real world solutions here.

I would like to know the wacky habits of your cats. Mine for example, The Evil One is in LOVE with plastic Bags, and also enjoys knocking things off table tops. Tap, tap, and on the floor it goes. Oh and he steals the meat thermometer, we find it days later behind the couch, or the toilet.

Evil Too however likes to sit at the window sill and make this scratchy pathetic attempt at a meow. I only assume he is trying to verbally assault the bypassing birds, but I just feel sorry for him.

Princess Puca is SPOILED. I have never met another cat who whines all the time. It's these high pitch meows, when I don't look at her, when I am not petting her, when she doesn't know where I am, or my favorite, when she is bored. so basically ALL the time. She's the spolied baby!

Well I would love to hear about yours!
