The mother needs a break from producing milk, which is best done
by separating her from the kittens. To prevent her glands from
becoming over-full and painful, it helps to impose a 24-hour fast,
withholding both food and water. It sounds cruel, but it forces her
body to reabsorb the milk in her mammary glands, thereby keeping
her from having painful swelling and potential mastitis (mammary infection).
You can also apply an ice pack to the swollen area to reduce pain and
further milk production. Since the act of nursing stimulates the
production of more milk, it is important to keep the kittens away
for at least one week.

Cats can get pregnant again right after they give birth, she may be pregnant again, or it depends on how many kittens she had, as in she may have had more than enough milk for the litter and it is what is left. I would call the vet or take her in to ask about this situation. As far as looking strange shemay jsut be recovering from nurturing the babies and is recovering. I strongly suggest atleast calling the vet. Check if her stommach is gettin hard, also it may be if she has had many litters it will always look as if she has just had babies and still has milk.

When I was volunteering at a vet clinic, a female cat came in and she just had kittens not to long ago. It turned out that her breast milk had gotten "infected" and she had to have some minor surgery done. Just take her to the vet and have her checked out. Thats all i can say to do. That and keep a close eye on her and make sure she is still eating and drinking enough. Best of luck!

if, she was still nursing the kittens, when they left. She will be ok, it just takes time for the milk to dry up, and she probably feels pain from her swollen breast.
