a cardboard box, or plastic container that is large enough for the cat to get into should work. I would suggest you line it with a trash bag, or a walmart bag so that it is easier to clean up. You can use dirt or sand as litter until you can get to the store.

Good luck with your new friend. I know I found my cat in a parking lot,and has been wonderful to me and my family.. Also remember, cats adopt humans, humans do not adopt cats.

big lots or dollar stores have plastic dish pans very inexspensive.. get a cardboard box and line it well with newspapers and use dirt or sand until you can get to store or look around the house for a large plastic container. put newspapers under it or an old plastic shower curtain or tablecloth. get your cat neutered or spayed and keep it inside they adapt very well and live longer than outside cats and animal control cant get the cat than. ps u can shred up newspapers if you cant find dirt. also aldies has a real good scoopable litter good price to.I was buying tidy cat and ran out of money and went and tried that one. I buy it now.I have 4 cats and 3 litter pans

Get the box's that a case of beans come in or soup....pour sand or pea gravel, or dirt. Under line it with a plastic bag to keep leaks off the floor. If you found any cat poop outside, pick it up and put a drop in the box for the feline to smell an know that is the place to do its thing. good luck

Any low box (about the length of your cat) the cat can step into will work fine. If it is a cardboard or wooden box, you might want to align the inside of it with aluminum foil to keep the moisture from travelling through the box. If you have any sand or if you are close to a playground, you might scoup up some sand and place it in the box. If this isn't possible, try potting soil or planter mix or any other loose type soil. Cats will substitute soil with pine needles or even old leaves if they can scoop them up.

Line a cardboard box with a trash can liner if you have one available. I assume you have cat litter but sand can work as a temporary fix if need be.

consider a cardboard box lined with a plastic bag. Put it on linoleum or another bag just in case he scratches through it. Or better yet, a plastic storage bin, or even a casserole dish. (Course I'd want to throw it away after...)
