We had a flea problem in the beginning of the summer, so I went out and bought flea shampoo, foggers, flea collars, the works. Now the fleas are gone, but it is getting very cold out (I'm in New England) and I'm wondering if I need to keep them wearing the flea collars. I also heard that flea collars aren't really safe for cats, so what anti-flea product is best? Do I need to start a new flea treatment now, or can I wait until the winter is over?

My fiance and i moved into his parents house about a year ago to save money. We have an indoor cat who remained in our part of the house and didnt interact with my soon to be inlaws pets much. However, their dog and indoor/outdoor cat (who have fleas) gave them to our cat. we have been trying to get rid of them for a couple months now, and nothing seems to keep them away! Well, we are moving out into a house of our own, and we do not want the fleas to follow! How can we get rid of them before we move?!?! HELP PLEASE!!

I just want to know how the incision looked for the first few days, if you have went through this procedure with your dog.

Buddy had his eye removed yesterday, and the vet told me that she would leave an area unsutured for it to drain.
Today I've been researching more on the subject on the internet....and I've read that some vets put in a draining tube.

Our vet left an area approx 1/2" long opened at the very front where the eyelids meet.
How do most vets do this if you know?
Curious.
Here's Buddy recovering yesterday:

I bought a baby corn snake (12 inch) about two weeks ago.
His color was bright red and white.
Now his color is like dull looking.
I'm not sure if hes shedding or not because his eyes didn't turn a milky blue color. Any advise would help. Thanks.

Ok so I realized cleaning the betta's tank with gentle dish soap was bad but will he still be okay? I put both BettaFix remedy in there for him and Complete water conditioner that says it "Instantly makes water safe for bettas." It's a treatment for water. Will he be okay? They aren't showing any signs of illness and it's easily been an hour to half an hour.

For Christmas I am leaving for 3 days and we are putting our dogs in a kennel and are leaving our 2 cats at home. Is there any tips I should know to do this? How much food should I leave them...should I leave a big bowl worth of food? Should I leave lots of water in the dish? Will their litter box be fine? Anything that I can do so they don't get bored or depressed?

THANKS VERY MUCH

I have used the exact same flea collar on all three of my cats and have never had a problem untill now. I noticed some hair loss and blood around the neck of one of my cats. When I removed the collar, there was what looked like dry blood on the collar and there is missing hair and patches of rash and blood spots on and around the area the collar was in contact with. I don't have the money for the vet for at least a week. Is there anything that you cat owner's have used to treat a similar problem. I will not use flea collars anymore untill the vet says it's safe to do so. Please help me help my cat.

I have a fairly large cage but hardly any enrichment items for my hamsters. I have a low budget so going to the pet store would be last resort. Does anyone have ideas that would be safe for two little rovoboski hamsters?

I guess that he's had them since we got him (almost a year ago) and since that he's an indoor rabbit he hasn't had a chance to be exposed to them. They appear to have not spread, but how can i get rid of them so he can be comfortable?

My boyfriend and i just bought a new townhouse and I am exctied that I will be able to get my very own cat when we move in next month. However, My sister is going to be living with us for a while and she just bought a teacup chihuahua. Now I am afraid to get a cat when thats what i really want. Do you think a cat would think a chihuahua was a mouse and try to attack him? Do you think it would be best to get a kitten instead of a cat thats already full grown? Do you think that the chihuahua will try to attack a kitten? I dont know this stuff because i never had a dog before so someone who has been in a similar situation please help me out!

I understand that there is the "cuteness" factor, but people are paying $1000+ for a MUTT!

Are people just so ignorant that they are willing to shell out that much for a dog that will have who knows what kind of personality, health problems, etc.

The one I do understand are the hypoallergenic dogs that allow people with allergies to have dogs.

Someone please give me a theory as to why people will shell out so much money for a mutt!

She does it randomly, and when it happens she does it like 10-20 times. I've had her for 6 years and she's always done it, and when I take her to the vet I always forget to ask. Do I need to be worried?

Ok all - we have seen it hundreds of times on here - people buying their pure-bred golden, dobie, bulldog, etc. I want anyone familiar with breeding simply to list their breed and ballpark price of a puppy.

I know - it's a little personal. But with Christmas coming up - and people on the "hunt" for a purebred dog and thinking that it's AKC registered, it must be good - to know - really - what is the price of a well-bred dog.

Maybe that will make people think - hey - why is this puppy in the petstore only $200.00.

You want quality- you gotta pay for it. So let's see what you SHOULD be expected to pay for a dog from a breeder.
