I have a fairly large cage but hardly any enrichment items for my hamsters. I have a low budget so going to the pet store would be last resort. Does anyone have ideas that would be safe for two little rovoboski hamsters?

Well the obvious answer is toilet paper or paper towel rolls. Just make sure they don't have glue on them.

another option is cut a sleeve from an old jumper not too fluffy and hang it in the cage securely without a big drop underneath. rats love it so i would think that hamsters should. they will need access to it easily as rats will jump but a hamster might not.

Well besides TP rolls, I used to give my rodents tree branches. Just make sure they can't use them to escape or they will! Some of my rodents have loved playing with those jingle cat balls you can get for $1 or less... others just ate them. If you're really crafty a wood or coconut shell puzzle with food hidden in it works great too.

Hamsters are rodents, so they like to chew on things. I always use to put card board in mines. Like toilet paper, or paper towel rolls. They like to go and hide in places where they can't b seen, or think they can't b seen, so maybe a coconut, halfed, cleaned and dried out, that it can crawl into. Pieces of shredded paper.
