Ok so I realized cleaning the betta's tank with gentle dish soap was bad but will he still be okay? I put both BettaFix remedy in there for him and Complete water conditioner that says it "Instantly makes water safe for bettas." It's a treatment for water. Will he be okay? They aren't showing any signs of illness and it's easily been an hour to half an hour.

Yes but this is the same fish that fell out of the tank? I'm sooo worried I didn't know it was harmful! I let the water run until there was absolutely no more bubbles or anything and I really rinsed it and he seems to be okay.. but.. Honestly will he?

Water was already treated when I put it in.

You cleaned your fish's tank with soap??? You probably already caused sufficient damage to his mucus membrane and gills; there is no way adding water conditioner is gonna reverse that... As long as you keep his water clean and warm, it should have a chance to rebuild its immune system before it gets sick, and do NOT use soap again... I don't think it's gonna die just from a one time use of a little soap.

EDIT: Simply rinsing a bowl does not remove any residual soap. NEVER use soap. Also, distilled water shouldn't be used for fish. Distilled water has none of the minerals in it that fish need to thrive (tap water has those minerals, so just add dechlorinator to remove anything harmful).

EDIT 2: He'll live, but another soap poisoning incident could be his last... just remember, fish like natural environments, and soap is unnatural...

you should be ok,yet incredibly there's a 3stage breeding tank for,Betta's that are made for them so the eggs will only drop down the small hatchery section after which you would be able to place the,Betta's back into the 10Gallon and optimistically considering the fact that there'll by no capacity be any eggs in the 10Gallon the male shouldn't kill the female then yet,it rather is a possiblity he could considering the fact that they have been breeding and all.additionally considering the fact which you have a Dragon Goby in that tank too and in case you left them the two to reproduce in there and all the male might get into desirous to kill with the aid of fact the Dragon Goby's are nocturnal and in basic terms at night the Dragon Goby won't be attentive to what hit it or kill it so i might try this 3 degree breeding tank and you would be good to bypass

Don't worry! I made this mistake also. I cleaned my fish bowl out with dawn dish soap, rinsed well, and added the bettafix, and the conditioner. Of course I also learned afterwards that you are NOT supposed to do that. My fish have been fine. I'm sure yours will be also. Good Luck!

I think your fish will be fine. I always cleaned out my Betta's tank with soap and water, but I would let hot water from the sink over flow (fast) in the tank for about three minutes and then cold water for another three minutes. I always made sure the tank was cool enough to touch. And if you ever run out of treatment, I always used distilled water for my Betta. I think that is the best water you can use for a Betta.

Good Luck!!
