I'm not sure about iguanas but I'm sure our cats and dogs do - even when I can't feed them on time they always forgive me and want to curl up with me in the evening!

~~ You already have many good answers ~~
I think you misunderstand the meaning of the term Anthropomorphism.
It is the attribution of uniquely human characteristics and qualities to nonhuman beings and inanimate objects.
Strictly speaking love is neither a characteristic nor a quality, it is a feeling. Just like joy or sadness.
You must believe animals can feel these emotions!
Then why not love?
What of the many recorded incidences of pets performing heroic deeds for family members?
What explanation do you offer for this huh?
The answer to your question is a very definite yes!

Dogs are domesticated by choice. They came to us unlike the wolf. Cats are still able to be domesticated, but they don't have to be. I have two dogs from the streeta of Puerto Rico. They lived in packs and were captured and brought to America. They live with humans BY CHOICE and have forgiven all that harmed them. To say thay animals do not love us is foolish and shows what a person thinks of his pets!

They absoltely do. Our chihuahuas worship the ground we walk on because we love them and see to their every need. Yes, dogs do have feelings like we do. If dogs are so stupid as first poster replied, then how can we train them? Maybe they have small brains but they use them to capacity. I love my dogs. My dogs love me!
