My dogs dew claws aren't removed...she's fully intact(as of now). Don't worry she will be spayed soon. Anyway I don't think cutting an animal for any reason EXEPT for spaying or nutering purposes is right. My view is if you want the animal you accept everything that that may bring...even if you may not like it. Lilly's tail is awful...it's huge, very muscular and tends to ALWAYS hit you in some way or another...but that is part of her and that comes with the deal. ....But out of curiousity why do people say you are supposed to remove her and other dogs dew claws? I don't get it...she's perfectly fine with them. No problems..why remove them?

I love dogs, cats, and other furry animals, but I'm afraid of snakes and other reptiles. Will that prevent me from being hired at a pet store?

I have 2 goldfish in a long 20 gallon tank. the male potbelly calico fantail is approx 3 inches, and the female oranda is much smaller at 2 inches.

initially when i introduced her to the tank, the male chased her around; typical mating behavior.

however, as of late, the female has been nipping at the tail of the larger male. now he has torn tails, so i've separated them with a divider. ive also seen the male rub his belly on the gravel twice. so im not sure if it's ick, or the female oranda.

has anyone heard of a smaller female harassing a larger male before? and if the male does have ick, would treating the tank with melafix destroy the biological filter?

10 points to the best answer! Thanks in advance.

He has so many wholes, its as if an earth quake hit it.Recently, the brick path way has begun sliding down into one of his creations, it is awful. I can't keep filling them up again. I have tried powder that is supposed to stop dogs from digging, any suggestions? FYI, he gets a lot of exercise to relieve his anxiety, doesn't seem to help.

Yesterday I found a stray cat in front of my garage. I approached it and it ran away to my backyard underneath my patio. It was typing to hide from me. I tried to feed it, but it was very cautious. Everytime i came out it hid under the patio, then i put the food out and left. The cat would look for me before and during eating the food. Also, the cat looked about 6-9 months old and was "afraid" of people/

I fed and fed it more about 1 pound of meat. Then it didn't come back. After an hour it brought a sibling. I fed them, again and again, but the (first) bigger one ate most of it. I fed them for about 1 hour. It seemed like they were starving and cold. It was about 40 degrees outside and i tried to let them come in the house. But, they wouldn't.

Today, only one cat was there. It was lying on a bench as if it were looking for the other one. It seemed like it died from the cold or overfeeding. I was depressed. What should I do with the stray cat?

I'm currently cycling my 20 gallon tank, and I've got 3 danios and a few white clouds. Just a minute ago, I noticed one of my danios flashing on the bottom and against some of the rocks. I shone a light on him, but I can't see any ich spots or anything unusual. This is the first time I've noticed any of my fish flashing, and he's the only one doing it. I just did a partial water change yesterday, too.

Should I take him out and put him in a separate tank, or just up the salt levels and raise the temperature as a precaution? I know 86 degrees is the standard for killing ich--will my fish be okay in such a high temp? How long should I keep it that warm? I'm a little worried about the ammonia toxicity if I raise the heat--should I do more frequent water changes/use AmQuel+ if I raise it?

(If I *do* end up taking him out, I'm not looking forward to catching him...man, those danios are fast little buggers =_=.)

I have done research on both, and both seem wonderful, but I am wondering which would be best for me.

I only have about $20 to spend per month(can make more. This is just allowance), and I would prefer something that is very hardy and doesn't need to go to the vet very often(given the correct living conditions, like dustless bedding for rats)

I love how playful and curious rats are, and have no problem with their tails, but I also like the cuteness and simplicity of a hamster.
I have a lot of space for either, so that is not an issue.

Help? I'd like to make my decision before x-mas, so I can ask for supplies for x-mas!

My uncle and I found a stray bird today outside of our apartment. We live in Hawaii, and so there are a lot of dirty birds and such. (The one we found is a Spotted Nape Dove) However, this bird looks sort of puffy, almost like it's swollen, but it's not pregnant, and I'm sure it's not just swollen for no reason.

What's wrong with it?

I really want a dog, our backyard is pretty big I'd call it somewhere between medium and large, we have pretty good fencing, I'm going to work on it so it cant get out, I can pay for the dog food easy, I'm willing to walk it everyday or more, I'm also willing to groom it about once or twice a week, more if needed, and I'd get it another dog to play with when I'm gone also I've heard pups sleep alot ....
but here are the flaws, I still go to school about 6 hours a day and im not sure if it would be ok by itself for that amount of time well its the only flaw that I can think of, but please tell me if I could still get a dog

Ok this is a little bit weird, at least for me. My cat seems to have an obsession with clothing, pants to be specific, well the deal is that when I leave my pants on the floor, he gets the same effects as a cat on catnip...starts purrring, meowing, rolls over it and licks em' lol...somebody please tell me if this is normal?

I have a lab/shepard mix and we got her when she was about 2 years old. We adopted her from a dog shelter after having to put down another. She is now 9 years old and she has this stentch that we just cant get ride of nomatter how many baths we give her. We have even taken her to the groomers and its the same thing. Is it just the lab in her being a water dog? Do water dogs have certain oils in there skin that stink? She hasnt always been like this its just been the last few years as she has gotten older. Have any suggestions on how to reduce the smell she has? Thank you.

So you turned on the shower fast so the little holes in the shower head would stop it?
