EWWW, that is sick. I know my neighbors let their dogs run amok.

Yes they can. You could actully be bringing the fleas in on your clothes, shoes, ect. Even if your kitty is strickly inside she still needs to be on flea prevention like frontline or advantage. That way when fleas are brought in they will die when they get on her instead of mulitplying.

Indoor animals still get fleas. It's a myth that they don't.

Fleas can enter houses as easily as any bug. They can come through doors and windows - and they do, because they can sense the body heat and C02 produced by you and your animals, so they come in looking for a meal.

You need to get some proper flea treament i.e from a vets not a pet store: Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate.

You have some excellent answers. If your neighbor's dogs run in your yard, then the fleas are probably coming in on your family. I recommend Frontline. It works really well, and kills and repels other "bugs" too. All you do is put some on the shoulder, between the "blades" and that is it. You will see results in probably a week. Keep it up, so as any in the carpet hatch, they will be killed, too. This is a monthly treatment. Then in case kitty gets out, she is protected. It is expensive, but works really well.

Those things can hitch a ride on shoes, pants legs etc...They seem to be able to smell cats long distance. I also once had inside cats who managed to get fleas even though we had the house exterminated and deflead cats.

flea eggs can live for months to years in the carpet and flooring in the house. One day the conditons are right and they hatch! yuck!

also if you have barkdust around your house they can live there and travel in to the house via clothes/shoes, dogs etc.

Fleas can jump on your clothes and get in the house that way.

Flee eggs hook on to you when you go outside. Give you're kitty a bath and it should be better.

You could be carrying them indoors to them.
