Frontline will keep the flies from coming back on the cat, but will not do anything for your house. You need a flea bomb. ZCheck out the following website for more info on flea bombs: http://www.fleascontrol.com/flea-bomb.htm

You need to wash your cat with a good flea shampoo, then comb it to get the fleas out. After the fur is dry, then put the frontline on. Also, keep an eye on your cat's feces and rear end. Sometimes fleas can cause worms. Which did happen with one of our cats. She may need to be seen by a vet to be tested. But, first, go the wash route.

If you notice that you have a lot of fleas in your carpets, you may need to get out of the house for the day and set a bomb off. Just remember to remove any pet food, open food, and plants.

fleas are tough to get rid of, but it can be done. I wouldn't stop at just frontline. You should spray down your whole house with carpet flea spray, and repeat every week for a month. Bathe your cat weekly in flea shampoo. Wash your bedding weekly in hot water. If your cat doesn't sleep in your bed, pay close attention to that area and spray it down weekly. Just make sure he/she doesn't go near the areas you've sprayed for a few hours until they've dried. If all else fails, you could try a flea bomb. Just leave for a couple hours and take your cat with you and the flea bomb releases poison into the air that will kill all fleas in your house. Good luck, it's a tough fight but you can win it.

Using frontline will prevent and remove the fleas from coming back to your cat, but not all the fleas in general. You need to find where they're coming from, then get rid of them. Just putting frontline on your cat isn't going to kill them all off, they could be on you, your kids or even other pets.

If you get it on the skin of the animal, not the fur then yes, it will kill all the adult fleas on the animal within 24 hours and prevent them for about a month.

It will not however kill flea eggs and larvae. Frontline Plus does this, I recommend it. The eggs will drop off into your house and hatch, which is why you usually need to get a spray for the house

You need to vaccum all floors, put flea powder on the carpet, let it sit 24 hours and then vacuum again.

You need to take all fabrics (blankets, throw rugs, etc) and wash them.

Spray stuffed animals with flea spray.

It's a pain in the butt, but if you do it right, and retreat the cats in a month, you should eliminate most of the problem.

For best results, make your kitty an appt. with the vet and get her a flea dip. In the mean time, decontaminate your home by washing everything in hot water and spray your furniture with a flea spray, then vacuum. After all is said & done, keep a flea collar on her.
