I was wondering if i could use cedar bedding for a rat. I was thinking of getting one and I have left over cedar bedding from my hamsters (which i have just discoverd is the cause of their death :'( ) so i was just wondering if I could use it on them. If not what kind of animal can use cedar bedding?

Any advice would be great....

so heres my plan.. i have a thirty gallon tank. I want a lot of floating plants at the top of my tank. Then i am going to have a mix of male and female guppies. (yes i am aware of what happens, and im prepared.) What other types of fish can i also put in the tank that wont eat the baby guppies. I also am going to have catfish or bottom feeders of some sort, any reccomendations on that too? im going to have snails too.

then do you reccomend as far as pH levels go and what type of plant chemicals and other stuff to care for the tank.

My cat's left cheek has a gash on it, but he's acting perfectly fine so no one is worrying. He smelt really bad, so I just kinda thought that it might be his cut, and it was. It smells so horrible.

I have a few questions that I need to have advice on:
1. I setup a 45 gal salt water tank 1 month ago (with live sand) and have cycled it ever since with 2 damsels a turbo snail, when can I add another (1 or 2) fish? Do I have enough bacteria yet to support more?
2. I found something begining to grow on a small spot of live sand (about 2"x1"). It looks likd red algae. I called Petco (which does not seem to know sh*t) about salt water fish, and they said that red looking algae is poisonous (but I don't think this could be so ... but, then again I do not know what it is, just that what is in the tank looks healthy & happy). They said I should throw out all 40 lbs of live sand in the tank and recycled it. I have left the tank as is so far, awaiting advice here to guide me. Should I leave it? ...just scoop out the red algae sand? Or change all sand out?
3. would like to add a sea horse to our tank. What do they eat & is there any animal I shouldn't add to the tank with them?

I just got a 2 month old snake and I read somewhere that when they are young you may want to feed it twice a week. I don't want to over feed her though, so can someone give me some advice? (Only if you are POSITIVE about your answer please)

How likely is it that she could have gotten it? I live in missouri USA. Do a lot of dogs get it is it common? She is acting Normal. I think we will take her in for another test but i want to know what are the chances.

Ok, I've got several questions to ask. Firstly, I've got a Red-ear Slider housed in a 30 gallon aquarium, complete with several large rocks for her to bask and 5 inches of water with about 20 goldfish (feeders). The turtle was given to me by my friend when she was about 2 in. long (about 4 years ago), but now, her shell is about 8-9 inches long. My father took care of her faithfully, and she has a beautifully polished shell. But, now I'm considering buying a tiger salamander. My first question is: Is this an adequate aquarium size for a turtle that big. Second: would there be any conflict between the Salamander and the Turtle? The tiger salamander could reach sizes of 8-9 inches long, I believe.
