I just got a 2 month old snake and I read somewhere that when they are young you may want to feed it twice a week. I don't want to over feed her though, so can someone give me some advice? (Only if you are POSITIVE about your answer please)

Well, most people recommend once a week. But it also depends on how fast you want your burm to grow. If you feed it twice a week, it will easily be 10 feet long at a year of age. For a two footer, i would be feeding fuzzy rats or adult mice. Pythons have a slower metabolism than colubrids (corn snakes, milksnakes, kings, etc.). I think one meal a week is just fine.

At that age you should feed the snake once a week a rodent no bigger around than the thickest part of the snake. A Burmese python gets quite large perhaps you should do some more research to better care for your pet. Check out Kingsnake.com they have great forums and tons of information about all types of reptiles.

Oh goodness. I'm afraid if you don't know how to feed it, you may not be prepared for other aspects of its care! This is a very large snake, that when it reaches 8-10 feet in length can never be handled by only one person--there must be another person ready to assist you at all times! This is a powerful snake, that can get over 100 lbs. and over 15 feet long.
Twice a week is recommended to babies.

You should feed him once a week. The mouse should not be larger than one and a half time the thickest part of its body. I feed dead mice to reduce the risk of mites and so they don't injure the snake

once a week is fine, if you feed it too much too quickly (refered to as power feeding) you will end up with a large snake with a small head, all out of proportion.
