It's doubtful. I think it's a myth. For one, alligators love to sun themselves and for another they are vulnerable to the cold, so how would that work in New York?

No, this is an urban legend. There are no alligators in the NYC sewers.

No there are not. They could only live for the summer if they did get loose because the winter would kill them. They could not stand New York's cold winter. They would also need warmth and sun light to digest their food.

No, A major university did a study of this in the late 90's... its not possible for them to survive down there...
