i was wondering if you need a filter in the guppies water, unless you have a water filter and just fill up the tank with filtered water?
is there anything elts that i am missing besides the fish, the tank and the water?

I asked this b4 but really didnt get any good answers. I have a bio wheel filter that hasnt been used in approx. 8yrs. When i bought it i used it for salt water , and now I want to dust it off and get it out of the basement and use it for fresh water.Is this ok to do?

i have 2 cats 1 boy and 1 girl and the girl had kittens about 10 dayz ago the boy cat cant go anywhere near her or the room because she will attack him and they will start fighting i dont know y she is doing this because she had kittens last winter and didnt do this!! can u help and when should they be able to go by eachother ?? please help

My duck started laying eggs about 8 days ago. She lays 1 egg everyday. We don't have a boy duck, so they're not fertilized. We have all of the eggs in the refrigerator. When will they go bad? They don't smell bad or look rotten, but we were just wondering.

Ok I have 10 fish....one is a plec, bottom feeder, I give him catfish pellets, but the other fish eat them too. Before he finds them they're gone.
I feed my fish aquarian fish flakes....and bloodworm every 3 days.?
Is my plec getting enough food what do I feed him?

My red eared sliders has had this white spot on it's shell. What is it? And they have began to form black lines in between its scutes. Could this be dangerous? Or is it normal? Also, one of the turtles shell is becoming lighter and lighter and the other darker and darker...The eyes also look a bit puffy...What should I do???? One more thing, the scutes look as if they are sbout to fall off.

I have a 4 month old kitten who is out of control. He is not happy unless every table,counter,shelf in the entire place empty. He is so sweet and lovable but just likes to make a mess. any suggestions?

I have two half moons I have spawned, but it turns out my infusoria colony is a bacteria colony, that will most likely kill the fry. I have some wardey's baby fry food for egglayers and livebearers that I used for my guppy fry it's a gell and I also have hikari first bites and some other baby fish food. Microworms are not an option at the moment and neither are viniger eels, i might have an infusoria culture from ym guppy fry tank, it's green water with some algae. I also have some baby brine shrip that are frozen and also some that I can hatch but I know I have to wait a few days before they can eat brine shrimp. Please help!

I cannot believe three people have given negative responses to my praising greyhounds for being brilliant pets.
Did they think i was taking the piss???
I have genuinely had two ex racers as pets and cried like a baby when they passed away.
They are the most affectionate dogs i have ever encountered.

i have 2 plants that use to be in a very dirty aquarium. parts of it are rotting and i removed it from the tank and put it in a bottle for a couple of days if i cut off the rotting places and rinse it will i be able to put it back into a new cleaner tank without it causing the fishes to die or the water to get dirty?

Please help me! I'm trying to set up a 2.5 gal. nano planted tank but for that I need good lighting. What lighting fixture(s) can you easily find at Petco or Petsmart that will increase plant growth and fit in a 2.5 gallon tank hood? Please give me the name of it or them.

ok we have a baby snake and people say its a python but we are not sure and we need facts and if you think u know what it is till us and we will send a pic soon and here are some facts we learn about the snake just watching it.
. creek water
. black and white checkered markings
. eats insects and small fish right now since its a baby
. smart won't eat dead items

My cat is 13 yrs old. She has always had great health. Over the past few days she has been a little awnry. The past hour I noticed she has been whining. When I call her name she whines, moans, and then growls a little bit. This is very uncommon for her. I called her vet but he is off today. Please help. Could this be a result of my kids occasionally chasing her around? I am wondering if she is being moody because of them.

I have a 4 month old kitten and a 3 year old cat. The kitten is SO loud at night and drives us crazy. I am also pregnant and really need sleep and my irritability is worse. If you shut her out of the bedroom she scratches at the door and if you shut her in the bedroom she races all over the bed and digs her claws into our NEW bedspread. I swear shes on speed. If we leave the door open she is SO LOUD. What do I do???????

i have a 3 month old puppy, she is an unbelievable sweet lil thing till it comes to her playing . she loves biting while playing , i got her a month ago and i think i shouldve taught her from the beginning that ppl rnt her toys ! , whoever comes over she bites them as part of playing and ppl really get annoyed, i tried all the ways with treats to stop her from playing this way but its not working, how can i teach her that biting hurts and is not allowed? , i get very upset when ppl yell at her to stop and i end up fighting them telling them shes only a puppy and she doesnt know that shes hurting them ! but i still know that its very wrong, is she gonna grow outta it ?or should i do somthin?

Years ago I had three siamese cats, they were siblings. Any way I had them for three years and one day I was outside walking towards my garden shed and all three of them began to yowl like only siameses can. They had been walking with me and when I stopped outside the shed they lined up in front of me and began to REALLY yowl. I had never heard them that loud and awlful before. I thot maybe there was a snake or some things so I just back away from the shed. There was a man in there who was running from the cops and had hid there. Later the cops asked me why I didn't go into the shed and I told them about my cats. The man had raped three women in the nieghborhood in the week before. Is this type of cat behaviour just in siameses or has some one experienced it with other cats too?
