My duck started laying eggs about 8 days ago. She lays 1 egg everyday. We don't have a boy duck, so they're not fertilized. We have all of the eggs in the refrigerator. When will they go bad? They don't smell bad or look rotten, but we were just wondering.

They will keep for quite some time as long as they are not cracked. If you won't use them (say within 3 -4 weeks) you might consider freezing or pickling them.

To freeze them you can break them into large ice cube trays and freeze that way so you only have to pop one out when you need a whole egg. You can also use little ziplocs although it can get expensive for packaging.

Here's a great pickling recipe: http://www.helpwithcooking.com/egg-guide/make-pickled-eggs.html

You can also tell if an egg is bad by putting it in a bowl of water. A bad egg will float. Eggs that lay on the bottom or swivel around a bit, but stay with at least part down are good.

Any eggs kept in the 'fridge- will "keep" for quite awhile (& you'll know it by the smell- when they're no longer good). Don't be surprised if it's like 6 to 8 weeks... But do you REALLY want to wait that long- to find out??! Ewww! :)
