Why would someone buy a dog instead of adopting one? I understand the situation when it comes to adopting a human baby...but what about dogs?

My wide and I have two cats who seem very healthy and happy. They are constantly spoiled with love and affection. They eat good (or high) quality cat food and are very well taken care of. They are strictly indoor cats. If they are outside its only in the yard and under supervision.

One is an 8 year old male, and lately he has been urinating in places where he did not used to urinate, like in the foyer (near the front door) and even in our bedroom, and with no clear reason. This has only rarely been an issue in the past, but recently it seems to be happening a lot and we can't figure out why. A friend suggested it could be an infection of the urinary tract, or something like that. I thought maybe it was psychological, but there would seem to be no reason for that. There has been no real change in his life style or surroundings.

What could this be? We are taking him to the vet tomorrow, but I still thought I would see if anyone here had any ideas.

I LOVE the way dog's milk taste. Is drinking dog's milk ok for your health, is it ok for your body. I mean its really hard to find nursing dogs sometimes, I have to look all over the place sometime for dogs nursing. It is delicious, and it does wonders for your stamina. Is it ok, to drink does anyone know about this?

I take my husbands husky outside about every 2 hours and or anytime he comes up to me to go out. I normally let him play side for 30 minutes. For the past month he won't stop peeing on my bed. We took him to the vet to rule out any medical reasons and he was given a clean bill of health but he won't stop peeing on my bed. I bleach all our bed stuff bc it freaks me out sleeping in dog pee. My husband doesn't care at all. He doesn't take his dog out and or even pick up after him. Im tired of being the one taking care of his dog. I have birds and a cat that are mine plus 2 kids. He was the one wanting the dog but he won't take care of it. What should I do.

So when we want the dogs to go out, we say "out" and open the door. If they ignore us, the tone gets stronger. My dog just pees whenever you start walking towards him to pull him outside since he doesn't listen!! All over the floor!

Even though to my eyes telling him to go outside isn't very threatening, I figured maybe he feels differently... So, I started saying "out" (quite bubbly and cheerfully) and whistling and actually going outside while calling him out (trying a more positive approach) and he STILL peed all over everything!!

Is this just a personality thing? Can it be stopped? I hate having to clean up pee every time I tell him to go outside!!

On the tv show The Power of 10, there was a question about the percentage of Americans who believe people should not own pitbulls. The percentange was 55%. I couldn't believe it was so high. I have worked at a vet clinic for quite a while and out of the hundreds of pits who have come in, not once have I had a bad experience with one. Of course, the people who usually bring their animals to a vet's office aren't the type of people who raise animals to be vicious towards other people and animals.

For those who hate the breed, have you actually been around multiple pits or is the hatred you profess to from just stuff from the tv. And don't you think it's unfair to hate the whole breed from a few instances. I mean, that would be the same thing as saying you hate black or white people because one hurt your friend.

I have the cutest kitty that comes to visit me and my own two kitties. She hangs out on the back porch, rolls over, does tricks, and sometimes just lays by my back door. My one cat even gets excited when she comes. They are friends. I am concerned though, because she doesn't have a collar. I only see her at night and she looks healthy. She is very social. If I opened the door, I have no doubt that she would come right in. Where strays tend to be more guarded. I put some food out for her yesterday and she didn't really eat any of it. I did give her a few treats today that she ate - I kind of just tossed them outside on the porch. She is such a sweet thing, but I feel badly for her that she doesn't have a collar. She may actually be a stray or be abandoned. I volunteer at the Humane Society and have thought about calling them, but am worried that she may belong to someone. What do you think? I worry about her safety, being outside - especially with no collar!

Is this possible? I don't know for sure that we have fleas in the house, but I have a cat as well. I am considering putting him on flea treatments but am concerned that if the fleas stop bothering the cat, they'll congregate on the rabbit. And if there's nothing I can do to deflea the rabbit, then maybe I ought not do anything. ??

I have a 10 gallon tank (freshwater). I recently added a rock from a petstore. I am not sure what it is called. After I added it to my tank, I checked the pH and the pH 6.0 ppm and it was used to be 7.0 ppm. How do I know if it is the rock that changed the water to 6ppm. Also, when I added the rock, there were bubbles coming from it. I am not sure what to do! Help! How do I fix it?

And please give me a reason why the pH changed?

I have a 10 gallon tank (freshwater) with 2 Cherry Barb and 2 Cory Cats. These fish have been here since January.

Thank you in advance.

My chihuahua was in heat. I rescued her and this is the first heat she has had since we owned her. The only male that I know about her being around was a pitbull. But I wasnt worried because I thought that that was totally impossible. But now she is preggers! Is this even possible or did she sneak into another doggies yard when I wasnt looking?

I used to have a bunny that had fleas and so i bought a flea collar (for cat and dogs) and it was loose and was not hurting the rabbit at all. Then one day the rabbit tried to take it of so he put his hand and pulled the collar and broke his neck, and the poor bunny had to be humanly uthenized (put to sleep) now i want to buy another rabbit but i dont know what to do with the fleas prblem. i have a cousin that cut a part of the collar and put around one of his bunnies legs, is that affective??

Yesterday I recognized that one of my gouramis had some bulges on the sides of it's body right behind its gills.

Up until today I thought I had two male gouramis until someone explained that the males have a more distinguishable color while the females are plain. The reason I thought they were both males was because when I saw them at Petsmart, the tank they were in said that they were "Male Dwarf Gouramis". Go figure...

Any way, what do you think the problem could be? Does she have a disease or is she ready to breed with the male? If she is, can anyone who is familiar with breeding dwarf gouramis give me some tips on breeding them? Thanks to all that help me.

And to help you and me to see if it is a male or female and if she or he has a disease or is ready to breed, here a few pics:
