MY rabbit just just died and I am thinking about getting a new one. We think my old rabbit died because it got too hot. What weather conditions are rabbits suited for?? Are they for
summer, winter,or spring?? M old rabbit had things to chew on, food and water a big cage outside, and treats once a week and I played with her often. What did I do wrong?? Plz give me some tips on rabbit care!!!! Thank you very much

well rabbits need to always be in warm condition. well i think if i tell u about my rabbits it'll help u understand a little bit better. ok i have 2 rabbits and what i do is keep them inside mostly and ~always~ leave the fan on. maybe that was the problem, since it's summer and it's very hot out. or maybe u left them outside and their very hot. really,if u think about it with all that fur the can actually die from the heat in condition like that. just get a big fan or a.c conditioner and they will be fine. and make sure to give them water everyday. good luck, and dont worry you'll do fine! c ya! ♥

It depends where you live. Rabbits are better able to withstand the cold than summer's heat. If the hutch is protected from drafts, rabbits can withstand temperatures below zero. Although rabbits do not do well in high temperatures. When the temperature outside gets to around 30 degrees, I advise you to get your rabbit indoors or get a plastic milk carton filled with ice for your rabbit to lay on to cool himself/herself down. Hope this helps.

First, rabbits are pretty delicate and have fairly short lifespans. So, it may have just been her "time."

However, rabbits can't take temperature extremes. So, if the weather was more than 85 (80 if she was long hair) and your bunny didn't have enough shade, cool water, she may have gotten too hot. Was she panting? Listless?

I used to freeze water bottles and put them in my bunny's cage during hot spells. She'd lie next to the bottle, pressed up against it to help stay cool.

Rabbits like it better when it is colder outside because they can't sweat. Now, -100 would be bad lol.
