I went to kingsnake.com and there was a sentance stating that if you don't put a potato in the cricket container every so often, your Gecko may perish!! I am very worried about it because i love my Leopard Gecko sooo much! I would hate to lose him!

A lot of information on-line tends to be dramatically overstated, this is a good example.

The usual term is "gut-loading" and it is a very simple and effective way of giving your gecko extra nutrition. It is done in addition to dusting the insects but it does not, and cannot, take the place of dusting.
Potato would be essentially useless as a gut loading food, being mostly starch and water. Try offering your crickets fresh veggies like shredded carrots or salad greens for 24 before you feed them to your gecko.
