My cat has always been an indoor cat, but has recently taken to the habit of "relieving" itself on random objects around the house. It still uses its litterbox liberally and seems to focus on objects that smell like a person who dislikes the cat.

Anyways, we'll be taking the cat out to a family friend's farm, soon, because we're getting new carpet, and having an argument break out if he ruins it would not be good. He's never been a fan of the outdoors, and on the few times he's ever snuck outside, has vigorously attempted to get back in.

Any tips for helping the cat adjust to outdoors, so that it won't feel so cold-turkey when we take him? Or ideas to stop him from marking objects that smell like his "foe"?

Cat is neutered, btw.

I was up around 4:30 in the morning the other day; so was one of my cats. She wanted nothing more than to go outside.

"No," I said, "we don't have 'out' while it's still dark, honey."

She complained about this for a bit, and went off while I mucked about in the kitchen.

Not ten minutes later, my husband was awake and downstairs, with the cat. Apparently she'd gone off to complain to him about the whole in/out situation, waking him up and everything...

We eventually figured out that I'd promised another trip outside the night before, and promised it "tomorrow," with no qualifiers as to when "tomorrow" started. Hence her complaint to her Dad.

On one hand, she is aware that she's not to be out when it's dark; on the other, it was, technically, "tomorrow." We are committed to attachment-cat-parenting, so nobody's mad at her for waking up her father, but -- there is some residual tension about the whole misunderstanding.

Who was in the wrong here?

Hi there i have a four year old neutered male cat, and we have just brought home a new kitten she is only seven weeks old, i know that this is a bit early but she was hand reared.
when i introduced my cat to the kitten(kitten was in the carrier) my cat hissed quite a bit then ran away, since then he has been very interested in the kitten but just hisses when he sees her, this morning he walked right up to the kitten no hissing but then he took a swipe at her than ran off, the kitten is fin but will they ever get on or am i just going to split the house in two and keep them seperated????

I want to know how long after her operation can I take her home? will I have to feed her and carry her to her newspapers or will she be able to walk? when can I take her for a walk? Can I bathe her a week later or I have to wait longer?
will she seem in pain when she's awake? will her personality change? (less play and less cuteness?)
I'm stressed about it, so please let me know what to expect...

Ha got ya, who ever clicked on that question and wanted to answer yes, YOU ARE WRONG

Bettas are NOT happy and healthy in a bowl or in a 1 gallon tank

It's your responsibility to your fish to get at LEAST a 2.5 gallon tank with heater and filter for your betta

There is no truth behind that, that a betta is happy in little bowl?!?!?!

Would you like to be confined to a space of 2X2???
Don't think so

Betta's can live up to 7 years with proper care

So what would you reather have, a happy and healthy betta or one that has a short expected life because of your iresponsibility?????

Here is also some more info about them
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betta_splendens

Here is also a pic where they live in natural habitat

Please to all the store keepers, we know that you have no other way then to keep them in bowls or small cups!

Ha got ya, this is suppose to be for people that still believe that myth about keeping goldfish in a bowl or a common pleco in a 10 gallon tank

The answer to that is simply NO, and here is why
http://www99.epinions.com/content_3185614980

Here is also a site the provides info on proper care for goldfish
http://www.firsttankguide.net/goldfish.php

It says a MINIMUM of 10 gallon per goldfish, right?

Here is the correct info on a common pleco and his needs
http://members.tripod.com/~Boeing_Dude/id192.htm

What does it say here, oh a minimum of 40 gallon, and you want to put him in a 10 gallon?

Wrong information everywhere, constantly I here from people that get advised from store employees that a pleco can go in a 10 gallon and a goldfish can live in a bowl?!?!

Come on people get real and do some research before you buy a fish

I had a cat a couple years ago and I was sitting on my bedroom floor, placing some good food down on the floor for the cat to eat. I don't remember what, I think it was some chicken or something. Point is, it was definately a yummy treat that I expected my cat to gobble up. Instead, all of a sudden, the cat got all tense and freaked out and was staring inside my closet. It just kept looking in there and it's eyes were real big. She lost all intrest in the food and ran under the bed. No more than 30 minutes later, a fire started in that same closet. I swear. To this day, I still don't know how that fire started, but it was a serious fire. The whole place burnt. My family and I made it out unharmed, thank goodness. But sadly, I don't think my poor cat made it out. I never saw her after that.
Does anyone besides me think that this cat sensed that something wasn't right?
Or am I crazy for even thinking that?
Thanks, and sorry this is so long.

its late, and i am very tired...and i just wanted to know this before i go to bed....i just wanted to know what the lowest temperature for a dog to stay in a dog house is? i will get one very soon, and North Dakota has very cold winters. so i think the dog will have to stay inside for most of the time during the winter correct? since it gets so cold. it'd be great if someone could find actual websites with facts. thanks so much!

They never play with him and he's always laying in the same spot it's on the porch and i never see his owners around.. Should I just let him be or do something about it?

One time I tried playing with him, he's really friendly but they told me not to and they don't even play with him that's what made me mad.. So should I just leave him alone or call somebody? They've had him for about 4 years..
