how can i train my dog not to do things? for example, not to jump on my couches..?

or trying to eat out of my garbage can what can i do for him to stop!

when he does bad things say NO! and grab his collar and put him in his crate/house for 10 mins. now matter how much he whimpers.

Cover the couches with aluminium foil for some days.
And keep your garbage in a bin with a closed lid.

whenever my dog jumped on the couch i sprayed him with a water bottle and he never went back!
