Hi Guys, occasionally i use cheese treats when training my Bullmastiff. Just of late he has had loose pooos on and off, vet says he seems healthy. What are your thoughts on this please? ps: he would only get 6-8 1/4 inch squares in any one day and not every day. We feed him on Hill Science Large breed puppy and sometimes mix teeny bit of chicken with his dried food and he has tripe sticks as a treat... never ever table scraps... he is only 6 months. Thanks guys

Our five month old boxer just died with parvo. 15days after his last shot. We kept him at the vet for 2 nights he then lost his battle.Well now we have a 3month old lab/pit that has no shots. He is our nephew dog .They believe that the shots make him more prone to getting sick.Well 3 days later he is showing signs of parvo. how do we treat him at home?does parvaid work? Do vets or pets mart sell it? We are using honey on his gums and making him some herbal tea with peppermint and spearmint ,garlic, chamomile and echinacea. It is helping in stabilize the nausea. We are giving him oak water instead of pedialyte and vitamin c. A friend gave us this recipe. it seems to be working. You can't tellhe is sick except that he sleeps a lot . We wake him every hour and give him a little fluids. Some people are born rich .We spent $600.00 And our dog still died .We can't afford to take this one to the vet.On monday we get paid and if he stays strong we'll take him them.any advice please till then

I have 3 fantail goldfish and 2 rather large plants in my tank. I would like to maintain my plants as best as possible. Do I have to get a light for my fish?

i'm gonna guess they're not necessary, but i want them to help keep the tank clean (visible)

i hear the plecos grow very large very quickly... what are some other fish/creatures that will also eat the algae and not overgrow the tank so quickly

Hey everyone, I could really use some good opinions on this. I'm looking into getting another German Shepherd puppy soon and I started thinking about what food I should use this time. With my other GSD, I used Nutro Natural Choice because that's what the vet recommended, but I wasn't very impressed with it. It must have tasted terrible to her because she'd barely eat it and when I switched food, she couldn't get enough. The same thing happened with my friend's Great Dane. I've asked around and gotten mixed opinions. A vet recommended Eukanuba and a breeder told me never to use it. I don't know who to believe. So, I was just wondering what you fed your large breed puppies and/or which ones you'd recommend and why. Thanks a lot.

I know this isn't the optimal way to cycle your tank, and I am still planning on doing a fishless cycle. I'm just looking for details on how to cycle your tank using fish, and can't seem to find many good sites out there, so I'd appreciate any links or information.

My 6 year old indoor male cat has some kind of swelling on his chin, upper neck area. This is the first it has happened and it only appeared this morning. It seems to me like an infection. I haven't taken him to the vet yet because it is an enormous hassle to get him into his pet taxi (he is extremely scared of it).

He doesn't touch the area and does not look as if he is in pain and even if I touch it he doesn't mind at all. It's very noticeable and looks as if he is fat which he is not.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Thank you.

Lol, I really did ask that question ahaha. I was walking through a petsmart, and saw a whole bunch poor little bettas in small cups! I really want to give one of the healthy one a good home in my aquarium. Will a molly, female guppies, and a swordtail live peacefully with a male betta? Another question is: how do I pick out the healthiest betta out of all of them? What are signs to look for? signs to watch out for? Thanks a lot everyone!

Ok I have a Bull Terrier male who is two years old and have just bought a female Bull Terrier who is four months old. Now the boys parents are the same as the girls grandparents so they are not brother and sister, she is a quarter sister to him. I was told that as the father of the girl is completly new blood that makes the girl once removed from the boy so I can breed them as dogs are different to humans in terms of inbreeding. Does this sound right to any dog breeders out there?

Last week, on Thursday, I got a 10 week old kitten from the vet's office. They said she had been de-wormed. Last Friday, I gave her Revolution to go ahead and kick any ear mites or fleas that she may have had. The Revolution works for all worms. Tonight, as I was taking a bath, she was using her litterbox which I keep in the bathroom. She jumped out of the box, and a piece of poop flew out of the box with her and landed on the bath mat. I got a piece of toilet paper and picked the poop up and saw what was either tapeworm eggs or tapeworm segments in the poop. Now, I am terrified thinking that she is infested. She has no fleas, and is an indoor cat in a meticulously kept home. Could this just be the worms dead or what? Nothing was moving in the poop. How long should it take for them to pass out of her system if they are dying or dead from the Vet's medicine plus my Revolution? Surely they couldn't survive all that?

Hiya

I've been asked to dog-sit for 2 weeks by a friend of one of my babysitting clients. She wants me to stay at her house and take care of her dogs at night (they go to dog day care during the day). I'd have to be at her house from 5:45pm to 8:45am but have the days free (2 hours from home though).

She said she's happy to pay me an hourly rate so I am happy to do the job

How much should I ask for? I normally charge $15 an hour for babysitting
