We have two 6 lb miniature Yorkies. I take Paxil (20mg a day). About 5 days ago I'd dropped one and took the entire house apart trying to find it. Vacuumed, swept, dusted - over and over again. Came up short. About 5 minutes ago, I looked down on the rug near my feet and the pill was there, whole but with tiny teeth marks on it.

My question is: Is there any chance that she (I know which one must have done this....she's SO sneaky) could have harmed herself by taking in any of that pill? I am worried!

Thank you so much.

Hi everyone, I need to ask you this because my vet’s office is closed (I will call in the morning as well)

I have an Australian Shepherd mix he's about 80 pounds (3 1/2 yrs. old), I think he may have allergies. We just put frontline flea on him last week and the fleas are gone.

But it seems like this time every year he starts getting these red blotchy like spots on him, I know most of this is from the remaining flea bits, he is constantly scratchy really bad tonight, and he’s whining when he does this. I know he itches.

I have read some past questions about Benadryl for dogs, but nothing really saying what type of benadryl, (liquid, pill childrens etc)I know not to use the ones with Tylenol and stuff in it since it is toxic.

The only thin I have available at hand is the equate brand (walmart) pill form allergy med. Containing 25 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride
Can I give him one of those until I can contact y vet tomorrow?

1 Dwarf Gourami
4-5 cory cats
6 hatchet fish
either 6 Harlequin Rasboras or 6 neon tetras

2nd set up would include:

1 dwarf gourami
3 cory cats

Tank divider

1 betta
3 cory cats

3rd set up would include:
Your ideas revolving around my dwarf gourami of course.

Ok, so I have a 20 gallon tank with 2 guppies, 2 surpae tetras, and 2 blackskirt(?) tetras. I change water about 2-3 times a month and I feed them twice a day. It's been like that for about 3 months now and all of them had been perfectly fine and happy (i think) until yesterday. Then this morning when I went to feed them one of the guppies was dead! And not just dead but with a hugh, black hole in his stomach! And the other guppy had his tailed ripped a little bit. The pH and temperature and other things are fine and I think it's either that the guppies attacked each other or the tetras attacked the guppies, or possibly the dead guppy caught a disease I don't know about. But every one of them looked healthy just last night! What was going on in my fish tank last night while I was asleep I don't know. What's happened to my guppies?
And also one more question: should I buy more guppies? b/c I've heard that guppies like to live in groups of at least 5..
Help, please!

i have found little doggies, all rescues and all amazing.
now i have a problem when it comes to feeding times as some eat faster, some slower and some have diffrent food needs. some have suppliments some still need to take their meds.
now the problem is that they all kinda swap around their food bowl, walk around to the other dog's food bowl, have a nibble there and walk over to another one and eat from another bowl. now i can't possibly seperate all of them or do i have to? also it's not fair to feed one while the others wait and then feed another one or is it?
thanks!

I clean and maintain aquariums for a living. Today I visited a new customer for the first time. They have a 37 gallon tank, this is really deep, 30x12x25. It looks like two 20 longs stacked on top of each other. Poor oxygen exchange is just the beginning of this tanks problems.
It has two filters, one is an under gravel filter. It also has a Tetra Whisper 1 power filter (similar to the current PF-30).
There's a large school of 11 black neon tetras and 12 black skirt tetras. Additionally, there is a small school of three julli cory cats. There were five originally, but two died. One black neon also died recently.
This is what prompted the call, three deaths in a week. The tank is in an advertising agency and they want it to look good...
They like the black and white theme...
The tank has a moderate amount of brown algae on the walls, artificial plants and not much on the gravel.
A slight white haze indicated a bacterial bloom.

Its a baby slider turtle not a box turtle or a snapping turtle. NO boby will take it. no wildlife places say its not wild so they cant take it and pet stores only take the ones that get shiped to them. i dont want to keep it because i dont want it for the next 40 years. its not eating the turtle food pellets i bought eiather i found it at a park. someone could have dumped it there. I put it in a tubber ware thing with some conditioned water and a rock. I cant take it to the vet. i think im going to put an ad in the news paper for a forever home for him when he gets healthy. hes very small. Heres a picture of what it looks like. i cant buy a uv light or a 20 gallon tank. what should i do??should i take it back? i dont know if it was wild or not

ive had my fish in a 6 gallon aquarium for a year now, and we changed the water today, and we filled it with water from the tap (like normal) and put in the chlorine treatment (same weve used in forever) and all of a sudden, the fish started dieing!!! it was strange, we had some cardinal tetras, and something similar to them only the stripe was solid yellow and thinner, 2 algae eaters, and 2 or 3 aquarium frogs. they just started going belly up! we did everything the exact same as normal, exact temperature, everything.

is something wrong with our water??? its river water, if that helps, our house is 13 years old, (1994 for you non math people) is it lead? im confused, please help.

Our cat is sick with something unknown. The vets still haven't got the results of the blood test. His left eye is all red with blood. We're supposed to give him pills and force feed him. But he absolutely refuses to let anything get down his throat. He'll spit it back up no matter how far you get it down his throat. He won't drink either. My roommate is in tears, because she's afraid he's gonna die. Every time she tries, she ends up with food everywhere but in the cat's stomach. Holding his mouth shut after putting food in his mouth doesn't work either. Then he just freaks out and won't let anyone near him.

He's about a year old. My roommate already paid a lot of money for the first vet visit and medicine and we can't afford to have him hospitalized. The vets even told us themselves they would charge an insane amount to feed him themselves. We've tried cat and human food. Nothing is working.

Does anyone know of any technique or particular food to try to get food in him? Thanks.

Do I need a protein skimmer in my saltwater aquarium? I have a sump tank and live rocks, but everytime I blow off my rocks or stir up my crushed coral an opauqe cloudy dust gets stirred up and is not getting filtered probably because it's too small. Will a protein skimmer help, and if so what is the best type to get for a 35 gallon tank. Where is the best place to purchase one? Thanks.

My cat recently had a suspected UTI so my vet had me give her Hills c/d.
I am very particular about what I feed her and was giving her Wellness before this.
It is all she has ever known and though she is not picky, I am and I prefer the natural ingredients of Wellness to the crud I've seen listed in Hills.
I know this particular food is good for cats with urinary problems, and I know it's a prescription diet...so it MUST be good, but is it high quality?

Any suggestions for an alternative high quality natural food for cats with urinary problems?

Thank you

My 1 yr old poodle looooooves tomatos. I had 6 sitting in a window sill waiting to ripen a little more and when i got home she had eaten 4 of them. About 3 days ago she got into the garden and 3 tomatos off the vine. There isnt any pesticides or anything like that on the tomatos so im not worried about that. Does anyone know if it is okay for her to eat that many tomatos? The vet said she would be okay, and she doesnt seem to be sick...but i dont know..it just seems like too many tomatos!

Thanx

This story should help the pitt people feel a little better --

A man working as a caretaker at a residence owned by actor Ving Rhames was found dead on the property Friday morning after being mauled by two dogs, authorities said.

He "appears to have suffered a number of injuries as a result of the dog mauling," Lombardo said.

"There were dogs loose on the property. Those dogs have been captured by animal regulation (officers)," he said. "We have four dogs that have been taken into custody for quarantine pending further investigation ..."

Police said investigators quarantined a pair of 200-pound mastiffs, along with two other dogs.

"Both those dogs are mastiffs; they're rather large," Lombardo said. "Normally we understand they are pretty friendly dogs. But, you know, there are occasions where dogs will turn on their owners or their caretakers, and this looks like a tragic accident."

*My Q is... were the dogs doing their job or are they killer beasts?*
