Depends on what you are trying to do with it. Do you have wild caught fish? Is your pH around 5.5 or 9.0? If the answer is no to both questions, then don't bother. Email me if you have any questions about pH.

No! Like 5speed said, it is dangerous to mess around with chemicals used to adjust pH. All pH chemicals are terrible ideas because they lead to chemical imbalances in the tank. They also need a lot of adjustments, leading to unstable water quality. As long as your pH is stable, your fish are fine. A pH that varies from day to day is more dangerous than the "wrong" pH.

I wouldn't mess with it. I've always found that letting the fish adjust to the ph in my tank is better and easier in the long run.

yes, it works fine it might take a while for the chemicles to spread around the tank. Depends how big your tank is. I have a 10 gal. so the chemicals spread aroung pretty fast. But if you had a 50 gal, it might take a while for the chemicals to go through the filter and fix the ph.
