Bloat in large breed dogs. Is this hereditary or something that can just happen. Is there any preventatives?

I got 3 suckermouth catfish to help me with the horrendous algae issues that I have with my tank (9 tetras, 3 guppies and 1 snail). I also do a water change every week without fail. This morning I noticed that the catfish were all dead. I cannot seem to understand what is going on. Can algae be poisonous? I have no live plants in the tank.
I want to do a complete clean up of my tank: is it ok to keep the fish in a bowl for a day while the tank goes through a cycle?

One day, while I spent the night at my friends house, my little sister(5) went into my room to play with my gerbils. She is NEVER allowed to play with them. By the way, this happened like almost a year ago. I had bought my gerbils a hamster ball, which they hated :-(. lol. And it came with a stand so I could put it in their tank. It was in there and it was plastic. My gerbils chew on everything, and they had chewed on the stand, so it was jagged. One of my gerbils, Nibbles, was under the ball, which is fine, when my sis went in to play with them. She didn't want him under there, so she grabbed the tip of his tail and pulled him out. She also started to pull him up in the air. And then he fell back into the cage. But guess what, she was still holding on to about an inch and a half of his tail. She told mom that she cut off my gerbil's tail, and she didn't even use a scissors. I think she was traumatized...jk. Someone said that gerbils can do that, but is that true? Is it for protection?

why do people always insist on buying a pure-bred dog from a breeder? I mean, mixed breeds are so much healthier, and there are tons of dogs in pounds who need a home! not to mention its so much cheaper to adopt a dog than to go out and buy a 'designer doggy' from a breeder. i adopted my dog. why don't other people do the same?

A few days ago, I was sitting in my room and my betta was lying at the bottom of the tank. All of a sudden, the hight pitched sound of the fire alarm went off (nothing serious) and he came to the top instantly, swimming around erratically.

How sensitive are they to sound? Anyone has any experience? Of course, I'm not expecting them to react to human voice but obviously they react to sound if it's loud enough.

My horse has had a strange, circle shaped indent on her right shoulder since I got her about 6 months ago.

I havent seen it get larger, or really cause an issue. I figured it was an old injury.

About a week agoI noticed that in the same spot, but on the other shoulder a smaller circle indent like the other seems to be developing.

The vet came out to check her and didnt say anything about it.

I was just wondering if anyone has seen this before.
Is it just the shape of her muscle or do I need to get the vet back out.

I have a 5 year old quarter horse gelding he was only broke a year ago. Now he has never been perfect, but he was rideable and I even jumped him. I went a way for a week and I asked my instructor to have some experienced people ride him. Ever since I came back he has been crazy he bucks when I ask him to do anything more than walk and he is spooking at everything, litteraly everything. I have no idea what's going on. I think maybe someone might have messed with him while I was gone. The vet will be out Friday. Any ideas?

My kitten was 5 weeks old and died last Friday. He was crippled from birth and I never expected him to survive. I am heartbroken. How long does it take to feel better. I know he is better now, but I miss him.

Okay so I have 9 kittens, i had made a post 2 times about one of them that almost died, but despite so many people saying i should put the poor thing down.. he is doing WONDERFUL no problems.. hes a 100% healthy kitten.. how to my question they will be 6 weeks this coming sunday. I have a few people that want one when they are ready but when is a good time to give them away. I have heard and read very different time frames. They all are cat box trained, they have nee drinking water and eating kitten food, soft and hard for 1.5 weeks now. There are two smaller ones, the runts that I dont think will be ready, but 7 of them are big and healthy and dont even really eat on mommy all that much anymore.. would 6 weeks be okay to give them away, or should i wait until 8?

I have one dog book that teaches the alpha dog theory and another that says the Alpha Dog thing is outdated and only positive training like clicker training should be used

so which is right? or are they both right?

in cats. . .
would it not be better to believe than to not believe and one day be walking through your neighborhood and out jump a cat. . .then you will be sure to wish you had always believed. So believe just in case, lol.
