I think you have a creative and brilliant dog..... half a ham plus sweet relish and cheese. If she could have found the bread, she would have had sandwiches.

Welcome to fridgeanon for owners of fridge opening dogs. The child lock is a good suggestion but not always sucessful ('tis plastic & chewable- also not designed for the heavy pulling a big dog can do). I ended up drilling the fridge & putting in a hook eye after two styles child lock failed. A friend had sucess with a "intended to be temparary" bungee around the fridge and never changed (my girl chewed the one holding the dog food can shut to pieces so I never tried that). A third friend had the dog learn to nudge the hook & eye open and ended up with a 60 lb tugboat weight in front of the firdge (dog clearly knew he had to move the weight but hadn't the strength)
Then again if he's only trying this while you are not home and not when you are in the next room, you could crate him or baby gate him out of the kitchen while you are gone.
Some mild diareha is to be expected (and gee he might not want dog food today being full of ham & cheese)but if he become seriously ill, call you vet back

If you are really nervous, just call you local vet. The dog didn't eat anything toxic, like chocolate or household products. She might just have a good belly ache. I would probably lessen the quantity of her next meal. You might want to purchase a child lock for your fridge. Good luck :)

Aw bless! No she'll just feel a bit poorly, maybe barf up the stuff she ate.
Do you have anything like really heavy you can wedge up against the fridge while you're gone? Keep her out of the kitchen?
Smart pooch!

you have made it into an interest searching for activity now, she is going to the refrigerator and you're taking observe at present... you may attempt distraction while she is going to the refrigerator, do some thing that's extra 'exciting' so the refrigerator loses it is charm... the gaffer tape ingredient somebody else mentioned is reliable, tho it does mark the refrigerator, as is the gate up the door yet you're in simple terms making it extra suitable, you may interrupt the habit.

God, I love those dogs. lol so intelligent, get a lock. I would keep an eye on her because she might to puke because she isn't used to that food but no she does not need a vet. Just make sure she doesn't eat raisins because those can kill.

Don't know but U might try one of those things they use to keep kids out of the frig. Might keep the dog out than this problem will not reoccur.
