I'm restocking my 10 gallon tank. Sadly my two indian dwarf puffers both died. I'm pretty sure it was old age, they were more than a year old, both died within 2 weeks of each other (loneliness? lol)

Anyways, I currently have 4 neon tetras in there. It's cycled for a week with the help of Hagen Cycle and there are two hygros, 3 fake hornworts...[booo! :( ]and 2 pieces of driftwood.

I really really really want a German Blue ram. I had one a long time ago and loved him. Would it be wise to put in a ram with the 4 tetras? I'm thinking of replacing one of the pieces of wood with an old terra cotta pot as I know rams like caves/rock work for hiding. I just love dwarf cichlids, anything other than a ram?

this is andrew. im on my wife's account. shes in the hospital with my new daughter, heather!! im so excited...anyway.
i have a maltese puppy who is around one year old. i was wondering, how will cocoa (the puppy) react to heather? are malteses good with children? cocoa has been good to other kids who have been to our house and such. but, will cocoa be jealous? anything? any behavior changes i can expect? thanks in advance!

She cut it on a fence wire and there is a chunk from her pad detahced and kinda hanging. i've cleaned, and wrapped the paw but what else do i do? will the chunk of pad fall off? I need help can i numb it ? with what and cut the big chunk off? vets are really expensive here, i need to try my best to do this myself.

I was just wondering if its normal for a kitten to lose a bit of weight when switching from milk to canned food, ive been raising them myself, someone abandoned them on my doorstep, anyways, they're around 4 weeks old, i believe, and are just now switching to canned food, the kittens have lost a little weight recently, and i mean they feel really skinny. Is this normal? These are my first kittens, they do gobble down the canned food and are now drinking water seperate from a bowl. Any help would do. Thanks :)

I just started a new 55 gallon tank a week and a half ago and I initially put 6 tetras to cycle it and then added four large angelfish from a different tank. Yesterday, I added a red parrot and a gold severum and when I got home today I saw one of my angels (which is about two years old) dead. I was wondering whether it could have been a disease, or the addition of new fish, or perhaps my tank is too crowded, or maybe the fact that its a new tank. I check all the water parameters and everything looks good. Any ideas? Also, Ive noticed that some of my fish have what seems to be bloodshot eyes. Usually one of the two eyes is redish. Is this normal or is it a sign of sickness? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Got some zebra danios today, got the water checked and it was fine. I got 4, and after they have been in the tank for about 6 hours, 1 danio started darting around very very fast and is now sitting in the water (Not dead) just above the filter breathing very fast - He has been still and breathing for about 10 mins now. Anyone know what could be wrong? As only 1 out of 4 has gone strange. Thanks

i got my cat last Thursday. I recieved her pregnant, full of fleas, has tapeworms, and is skinny. She is very large, and I am anxious to know when she will give birth. I can see always see babies moving, her nipples are big and have fur loss, She sleep and eats alot, she seems to be somewhat active at night, and she was panting a day ago. My concerns with the kittens, is that she has tapeworms and fleas. As the vet said, we had applied flea medicine two days ago( Frontline) and tapeworm medicine today. I heard this could cause harm to the babies, is there major concerns I should be worried about? Almost all of her fleas are gone now. And last night, she was laying on the couch in a unusual postition, and she wouldnt let anyone touch her. Can anyone help? Her pic is my avatar, and by that you can see how big she is. I purchased a heater for my fuishtank 4 months ago at walmart - It has been working fina all along i have it set to 75 and most of the times my tank is 75 came home yesterday and the tank was 84 - unplugged the heater checked it over no cracks or nothing put it back in turned it down to 70 so it would only kick in if the water got cold - went to work today the water was 75 came home it was 82. Needless to say im chucking the heater 1) Are my fish in any danger with the fluctuation of tems over two days between 84 and 75 f and 2) what i a good trusty name heater i can get ? Dang walmart

i just bought 5 guppies for my 39 gallon tank... 3 out of the 5 vanished !!! completely, no bones ,no fragments nothing !!! and i have nothing in the tank that can eat 3 guppies whole except mabey a pleco and 2 dojo loaches can someone plz tell me where my fish went !!

I have tried everything that you all suggested, and my puppy is still pooping in her crate. She is now 17 weeks old, her crate has become so small it's getting cruel. She is doing great potty training outside of the crate. We only crate her at night. I think she's pooping delibrately to get attention, she has held it all night for 2 weeks straight in the past.

When school starts, we can no longer clean up after her and give her a bath every morning. I am going to resort to making the crate larger and letting her poop in it. We'll have to clean the crate, but at least we won't have to give her a bath everyday.

Has anyone else resorted to this, and did your puppy eventually get better?

my mom fell in love with this yorkshire terrier puppy at the pet store.this is the 1st time we have even thought about getting a little dogit is the best yorkie compared to the others and i am completely in love with it. my mom already named him too. his name is gus. haha. well the thing is it is 2000 bucks. and that is a lota dough soo my dad completely flipped out when he heard the price. so we started making calls to breeders to see if we can find one that is just as good only less expensive we havnt found good ones. we went back again to see how my Great Dane would act around a little rat. they did good and my mom fell in love wit the puppy again aand she started talking to one of the employees and they know how much we want the dog soo they dropped it down too 1200 which is better but still expensive. i need a way to encourage my dad to get the cute lil pup. i would really like some help cause i really want this puppy alot. (enough that im asking you ppl)

Ok I have a 75 gallon saltwater fish tank and i fish got to crab then i added i sargent major, and a blue green chomie and they were fine to got along well and at night when i turned down the light then even sleep in the same little hiding spot but yesterday i added two chocolate chip starfish and 1 clown fish and two of these snails that stay under the sand. evey thing was going well all day then i turned the lights out for about 1-2 hours and wheni came to check on them my clown fish was layin in the corner on its side and by sargent major was al most completely black and my chomie was hiding from him cuz for some reason the sargent major started bitting him after like 30 mins every thing went back to normal and they seem to be getting alone just fine but i think that my turning the light out had sone thing todo with it so im scared to turn it back out . does anyone know what could have caused this. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I have an American Eskimo dog who I have had for nine years. Most of the time he is playful and happy but it seems whenever I approach him his ears flatten and his tail goes between his legs. He's never barked growled or bit me and I have never hit, been rough or even really raised me voice at him. He will cuddle with me and play with me but he always seems a little submissive and nervous. I know I'm supposed to be the "alpha" in the "pack" or whatever, but it makes me sad to think he doesn't trust me or he is afraid or doesn't like me or something. Can some one who understands dog behavior help me understand?
