From what you've said you needn't worry too much. Since your dog is still young, it is still learning its habits. Being introduced to your new baby girl at a younger age is definitely a benefit. Also, since it gets along with other children well, it already seems to have good social habits. This makes it all the easier to introduce it to another child. As stated earlier, it would also be smart to bring home something of the baby's prior to bringing the baby home, and let the dog sniff it out. This way, the new smell wont be too much of a surprise, but rather somewhat familiar.
Again, I wouldn't anticipate too much of a problem. Make sure the dog isn't too hyper during the introduction, so not to scare the baby. and be sure to keep an eye on the two of them for the first couple of weeks, even if their introduction goes well, its best to be safe.
P.S. Congrats on a new baby girl!

My mom had a thirteen-year-old springer spaniel when I was brought home from the hospital twenty years ago. The dog didn't like me and my parents say that his feelings were hurt that he wasn't their baby anymore. He never made a move to hurt me even when I spit-up on his head. I think that the reaction your dog has to your baby will depend a lot on how calm or hyper the dog is. Make sure not to neglect the puppy. He will be curious and he may feel left out.

i am also preganant and soon to pop, so congrats! in the past with my mom, and friends its always best to gently rub the baby and mother with a receiving blanket and take it back to the dog to put in thier bed or to play tug of war with or to wrap up in, just make sure both mom and daughter smells are on blanket. give the blanket to coccoa, don't take it back, its hers. she will smell mama and new baby and get a slight understanding to something new, that way heathers smell won't be foriegn to her as a shock, also make sure it will be hard but mom still needs to spend one on one with coccoa after baby is home, also, hold baby with one parent and coccoa with another to let coccoa meet heather. Make it a slow process, don't just "throw" heather to coccoa its a shock. she might growl or howl when heather cries but she will get used to heather and love her alot. its also wonderful coccoa is still young. older dogs have less paitence sometimes. Please don'y get frustrated with coccoa, its an adjustment for her as well just like if you had an older sibling. Still love her and have paitence, but don't take any snapping lightly i'm sure you won't and i'm sure she won't either, but just in case! I am also doing this myself! It works well just have love and paitence! Congrats! my vet told us this many times with new babies! Good Luck!

Be a smart cookie ;) Bring home the baby's blanket a day BEFORE the baby gets home, the dog will recognize the smell of the baby when she gets home !

congrats on the baby girl...the situation with the dog depends on lots of things including how well socialized the dog is and how you react to having a new baby at home...if you are nervous the dog will be too.

depends on the dog's personality. some get jealous easily some don't some act nice to certain ppl and some act mean to certain ppl...it really depends on the dog's personality. for now, don't let the dog too close to ur baby. congrats and goodluck=]

Hard to tell when we don't know either of you.. Have you taken the time to read up on how to introduce the baby to a dog in the house?!

A very good question. Just be cautious. I understand that dogs can be really jealous of a new baby.

here's a site for info on the dog:
http://www.puppyfind.com/breed/?breed_id=72&back=%2Fbrowse%2F%3Fstr%3Dm%26page%3D1
it says its friendly so i guess she/he should be ok.Just keep doing what your doing to her like still give her lottz of love and attention and give her her needs to! So then maybe she/he wouldn't get jealous.I say to treet them equal even though its dog and thats your kid but the dog is family to!
