I have a 2.5 gallon tank that has a male Beta in it. It's a nice tank with some big rocks and some real grass/plants. But, it's kind of boring to just have that one fish.

Is there another fish that could live in a tank that has no air pump or filter?

I thought about goldfish, but they're dirty and spoil the water, so I don't want them.

The 10 week wait is over and I finally got my gorgeous little ball of fluff on Sunday. She is just adorable, and very clever using her kitty litter straight away (thanks to everyone for advice on kitty litter a few weeks ago) I also asked for some names for her and for those of you who answered I have named her Isis, pronounced Ice ess. My little boy calls her icy, which I think is very cute to! Anyway I’m so excited I’m rambling so I’ll get to the question. I was concerned about how my little dog would act with a new kitten, but my dog is being wonderful with her, it’s the kitten that is terrified of the dog. She is aching her back, hissing and scratching my dog when she comes to close. And they keep having these staring standoffs, the kitten is fine until the dog moves. What should I do? I know its only day 2, so should I just be supervising and letting them sort it out themselves? Do you think kitty will get used to the dog and stop her hissing and scratching? I’m just worried that our dog will lose an eye the way they are going, but the dog is so good with her she just wants to say hello but is scared of the kitten and backs off lol. Anything I should be doing or some advice would be great!!!! Thanks so much :)

I adopted a 10 week old kitten (on a Mon) from our local animal shelter. They gave her the first round of vaccinations and a general dewormer the day we brought her home. She was COVERED in fleas and very thin. After cleaning her up it took a few days before she would eat well. She finally began to play and be a part of the family. Sunday morning she began sneezing, had watery eyes and nose. The animal ER we took her to gave us antibiotic and eye cream to treat an URI (upper respiratory infection) At that time she was eating, drinking, peeing and pooping as normal. Today she's bloated and not pooping. We've been doing steam baths for her several times a day as prescribed but she's still sneezing. I've worried about her not pooping now and her belly is pretty bloated. We called the ER back and they said it shouldn't be the meds and have her in to our vet in the morning.
We lost a cat during neutoring the same day we adopted this new kitten and don't want to lose another. Any advice??

Okay, I have a cat that is primarily an outside cat. He still comes in sometimes. Well, last week when he came inside we noticed he looked a little thinner. He ended up doing nothing but laying in practically the same spot for 2 whole days, only getting up to use the cat box and to eat. He still pretty much just lays and sleeps all day, but he's gone back outside voluntarily a few times and goes throughout the house sometimes now, too. His belly still seems fairly plump and not skinny, but if you run your hand along his back you can totally feel ALL his back bones and everything! Any idea what would cause anything like this? Thanks!!

I hear a lot about it... wondering if your cats make you feel better when you are sad and How? I love cats and love to hear heart warming stories about them.

Thanks!

While babysitting, I found a bearded dragon basking in the sun on their concrete sidewalk, (eventually) caught it, and brought it home. I've researched (via internet) what they're supposed to eat and everything.. But I was wondering:

1. Could you identify what type of beardie it is?:

2. Is it too thin?

3. (If it's possible to tell...) does it look healthy?

4. What should I watch out for, and

5. Has this happened to anyone else? lol

For the past 3 nights, there's these two possums that hang out on top of a short brick wall between my house and my neighbor's. They seems to just sit there and my two dogs (Corgi and Siberian Husky) constantly try to get at it! One time it came down from the brick wall and my two dogs almost attacked it, but my brother was able to take away the dogs into the house. I called animal control and they told me that they couldn't do anything about it because they are protected by some kind of Wildlife regulation. They told me to trim down the tree (where the possums hang out) on my side of the brick wall, but I'm not so sure that's gonna work. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them without killing them? I'm so scared that my dogs will get hurt by one of them and I know my husky is the type of dog to attack a strange animal (he's attacked an injured cat before that crawled into the backyard once). I don't even leave food out overnight for my dogs so I don't see why they are there. Thanks.

I have a small tank, but want a bigger one, would like 3 clown loaches and 2 coreys. I know they need room to play and can grow. What else could I put in there that will not overcrowd. I have a variety of tetras now, but want something different that will be compatible with the clowns/coreys, would 4 more fish be too much?
