Definately no goldfish. Besides growing up to a foot long and being messy, they are cold water fish and bettas are tropical fish needing water between 72-78 degrees. I hope you have a heater for your fish? I would get a five or ten gallon tank if you want to add fish, 2.5 gallons is too small IMO. In a larger tank you can try swordtails, platies, angelfish (30 gallons or bigger) cherry barbs, tetras, kuli loaches, plecostamus (need huge tanks) corydoras catfish, and otocinclus.

No the tank is way to small for any other fish, even goldfish are to big.
Get at least a 10 or a 20 gallon and you can add other fish. Just be careful though because any fish that looks like a male betta will be attacked.

Fancy goldfish (such as the one you have) need 30 gallons for the first fish and 10 gallons for each additional fancy goldfish. If you put it in a 5 gallon it is going to be stunted. This is where the body stops growing but the internal organs do not which leads to a slow, painful death. Goldfish are also very messy fish and if the stunting doesn't kill it, the ammonia build up in such a small tank will.

Goldfish need air going in the tank. Bettas are labrynth fish meaning they have lungs and can breath air from the surface of the water.
In a 2.5 gallon tank with no filter or air there's really nothing else you could put, sorry. :(

Just for your information, goldfish need at least 10 gallons of water each due to the size that they can grow to and the amount of waste they put out. People don't realise how large goldfish really get; they put them in tiny bowls, which causes the goldfish's internal organs to stunt and deform, so they don't grow any larger.
Besides, bettas and goldfish require different water conditions, and are thus not suitable tankmates for one another.
As for your question, I don't think you should put anything in with your betta; 2.5 gallons is really the minimum recommended size for a single betta. If you want a tankmate for your betta you will probably have to increase to 5 gallons, in which case you could get one snail or one frog; if you increased to 10 gallons you could keep a school of tetras, white mountain cloud minnows or rasboras. Bettas will only attack other bettas or fish that resemble other bettas, so use that as a guideline when buying tankmates.

You could have a small snail, like a trapdoor snail, or a ramshorn snail in there. They are interesting to watch. Not much else would be able to go in such a small tank with a betta though. Especially not without a filter. Maybe a glass shrimp, but make sure it's a big one, so the betta doesn't eat it.

No, the tank is really too small for more fish. If you could get a ten gallon, then you could put a few more small fish in the tank. A few small tetras and three or so cory cats would make a nice tank.

There isn't anything else that could be put in your tank, for two reasons.
1. It's already at maximum capacity, with one betta.
2. A male betta can't live with anything else except snails and some peaceful shrimp.
Also, your betta will live longer if it has a filter in the tank. Here is a nice cheap filter that will do good for now: http://www.petco.com/product/13796/Hagen-Elite-Mini-Underwater-Filter.aspx

I would say nothing.
The tank is very small and Beta's tend to be very territorial, especially the males. If they did not outright attack the other fish they would chase it around until it died of Stress.
