just wondering, is there a cat food out there that's like a diet cat food for a cat gaining weight. My female cat is 3yrs old and got spayed about 4 months ago and ever since then she is kinda fat. Not huge, but pretty big. She's so big that I worry about her health in the long run. What should I do about her food? She only gets a cup of meow mix a day. That's what's recommended.

This may sound completely gross to some but I am truly worried so please no negative comments.

My dog is a 3 year old female black lab and like any other dog, she licks her ginatels to clean them. Well this afternoon midnight (my dog) rolled on her back for me to rub her stomache. And when I was doing so I couldnt help but notice that the side of her vagina was white/peach and the edges of it and all around it is surrounded in blood. Now I know its not heat because for one its on the side and two, she just went out of heat last week. What is wrong with my puppy? Did she lick it raw? I would go see a vet but I really dont have the money right now. Please please help me!

Question #1:
How early is to early to give a puppy a bath. They will be five weeks this Friday. Momma isnt cleaning their bottoms and the poop is getting stuck. Should I be concerned about this? The poop isnt runny really, but is kinda soft? No diarreha. And why isnt momma cleaning them? Its her first litter, but has done a great job so far??????????

Question #2:
Should I be offering puppy food yet? They are just now getting their teeth. If I do offer should it be moistened?
Question #3:
Is it to early to start the potty training process? They seem to really like to get out of the kennel and squat on the newspapers, poop and pee. I dont want them paper trained. Prefer for them to go outside.

Question #4:
How many hours of play time do they need? I have three kids who have picked them up since day one, everyday. I am a stay at home momma, and have no problem taking them out of the kennel several times a day, but just want to make sure I am giving them enough.

i was wondering i find it really hard to sleep at night as i hate knowing that somewhere in china or the Philippines or Kora there are dogs and cats being slaughtered eaten skinned burned chocked abused and even made to mate all day (puppy mills) i saw on the Internet really horrible images of theses acts and of abuse of dogs i was wondering are their people who go over to these country's to try and stop these crimes also animals used in laboratories are they still allowed or is it banned i really find it hard not to think about these things i picture their sad little eyes and how terrified they must be its makes me cry i hate knowing that right now a dog is being hurt or killed if find it hard to take , i would just really love to know if their are kind hearted people out there trying to stop theses vile acts on humanity like PETA or the Human society or RSPCA etc
could anyone tell me if there are people and what do they do too help stop it

I got two cats. A siamese and an egyptian mau. I hate dogs. Is that weird or what? If I suddenly became single would it be hard to find chicks that don't think I'm a weirdo? My apartment doesn't stink. I'm 25. I hate dogs cause they're stupid.

I have a 9 week old kitten and my husband and I have had her here for a week. She loves to be around people, but she hates to be held and cuddled. She runs around the apartment like a nutcase, so I know she's not shy or scared or anything of the sort. She insists on playing the whole time she's awake. Occassionally she'll look at you and meow, but there seems to be no point to it. I've had cats for quite sometime, but none ever acted like she does. All my cats before loved to be around people and didn't run when you tried to pick them up. Like right now she's sleeping beside the keyboard, but if I pick her up she's gonna get cranky. She doesn't hiss or anything, but she struggles until you let go. When we go to bed she has to be right there in bed with us, however that's not always fun either becuase in the dark she'll bat at you eyes (which no other cat I've had has ever done either). I just can't figure her out.

I've had my Discus tank up and running for about 2 months now. I was told by breeders and other discus experts to do 25% weekly water changers. I have a 55 gallon tank so I am taking 10 gallons out each week.

To me this seems like quite a bit. Wouldn't it start a new cycle each time I do a water change? I have a fluval filter and 3 packages of the Biomax balls, so is this why it doesn't start a cycle each time?

I've had fishtanks for about 10 years now, but until recently, I've never did any water changes or knew much, if anything, about water cycles. Could somebody help me out on this?

Also, since the biomax balls carry all of the beneficial bacteria, wouldn't it make sense to never replace them with new ones? Fluval recommends changing it once every 3 months, staggering the replacements. Is this just a way for them to make money? I don't see why I should replace it.

Assuming that you want a dog to be protective, I have begun to question the logic behind having an "over-socialized" dog. Wouldn't it be more useful to have a dog that is neutral to people. I am not saying people shouldn't socialize their dogs, they should.

Note: this is a matter of pure preference, but please substantiate your opinion.

She passed her bubble and having hard contraction and pushing but, no puppies yet. This has been in the last 45 mins.

OK.. I have a 2 hour old crested gecko hatchling.. and we know what to do for him.. the only thing I forgot to research.. and am having problems finding, is how soon after it hatches can it be moved? Its still in the incubator, but we have 11 other eggs.... 3 of which are going to hatch soon... but when can I remove the hatchling into his own home???

I was wondering if my leopard geckos could eat organic peach baby food....and if not what other fruits can they eat??

btw- Leopard Geckos can and DO eat fruit & vegetables...thats one of the reason you feed crickets fruit and vegetables. SO PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER IF YOU ARE GOING TO SAY THEY DON"T EAT FRUIT!! (I really just don't want to hear it.)

Today I bought an additional thermometer and a humidity gauge so there is a therm. on each end of my 20 gallon tank. Is it ok to have a heat pad with a hide box above it and then a clamp lamp in the same end of the tank but opposite side? I want to create more of a warm/cool temp gradient. On the opp. end I now have her water/soaking dish + various shrubbery. She got rid of all her shed except the eye caps. She ate a mouse today but I know the eye caps need off. I sprayed a special shed spray on her from my store that is for the eye caps to loosen them. I'm going to see if they come off by themself but if not tomorrow I am planning on manually removing them. I have heard numerous ways of achieving this. Tape? by hand? What's the best technique? I've never done it before and my reptile specialist @ work isnt in till thursday so I was hoping I could do it myself before then. Any help would be much appreciated!
