Avoid hamburger you might not believe this but it is true. You'll likely be getting around 50% water.
Ever wonder why when you buy hamburger meat at the store and make big juicy patties. Then when they are cooked they shrink up to have their size that's the reason.
You take 100 pounds of course bull meat or cheap cut meat then mix it with 100 pounds of ice and you have 200 pounds of hamburger meat. Old butcher's and slaughter house trick.
Hope none of your people are the ones trapped in the mine we're praying for them.

I know many people advocate the raw food diet, but I do not. In the wild, when dogs were free to kill prey, they ate fresh killed meat - bones, entrails and all. In today's world, the meat we select was usually killed days or even weeks ago. There is just a much chance of your dog getting salmonella as you from handling fresh meat. Additionally, the natural bacteria that grows on fresh meat after a few days is destroyed when we cook it for human consumption, but that is not the case if you feed your dog a raw diet. Unless you kill your meat source and then feed it to the dogs in the next day or two, your dog runs the same risk of infections as you do. The rule of thumb should be - if you would eat it yourself, or feed it to your children - then it's safe for dogs. If not...then your dog may run the same risks of poisening as any human.

Sign up on Dogster.com it is a free web community for dog owners. There are forums where you can discuss these things and there are some people who have been raw feeding for ten years or more and they are very knowledgeable! You can even probably get in touch with other husky owners who are raw feeders...
