This may sound completely gross to some but I am truly worried so please no negative comments.
My dog is a 3 year old female black lab and like any other dog, she licks her ginatels to clean them. Well this afternoon midnight (my dog) rolled on her back for me to rub her stomache. And when I was doing so I couldnt help but notice that the side of her vagina was white/peach and the edges of it and all around it is surrounded in blood. Now I know its not heat because for one its on the side and two, she just went out of heat last week. What is wrong with my puppy? Did she lick it raw? I would go see a vet but I really dont have the money right now. Please please help me!

Maybe you should try calling the humane society to see how much it is to bring her in for a check up. They probably have a 1 800 # you can call to ask questions. Also, clinics is a lot cheaper than private vets, so maybe you could call around and see how much it cost for an initial check up.
If the bleeding does not stop then definitely you have to bring her to the emergency pet hospital and make payment plans, but if the blood dried up then the wound could wait until tomorrow morning. Since you have time right now, you should look on-line or your local yellow pages and look for places to bring her for a check up.

Man, do I feel your pain about the no money situation. However, if this does not heal, going to the vet may be your only option. Chances are that from being in heat, her vulva area became irritated or even infected and she has licked it raw.
I would watch it VERY carefully and if it gets any worse or is not improving, get her to the vet. It can actually cost you more in the long run to let it progress than to just deal with it while it is minor.
Most vets will accept payments and work with you on that. They are not cruel and are not going to turn someone away when you are willing to make payments.
Also, this is just my advice, but going through heat, and possible pregnancies can be extremely expensive since complications are common. In the long run, coming up with money for a spay is a lot cheaper than dealing with the complications.

Obsessive licking is due to stress and lack of activity. She needs more exercise and more mental work. Redirect her away from licking as much as possible. Provide an alternative toy. I'm amazed how many get JRT and think the smaller dogs won't need to be exercised an trained like the bigger ones. In her case she licks out of a maternal instinct. Which is sweet, but sad too. For 9 or 10 years she has had this issue, wish you settled it sooner.

no she didn't lick it raw. Dogs heats last about 3 weeks, they stop bleeding sort of, and start again. She might not be finished yet.
If she starts acting sick or lethargic she could have pyometra a often fatal problem which occurs after a heat cycle in un spayed females, then you will need her to go to the vet.... it usually happens a couple of weeks up to a month after their heat....so just keep an eye on her.

Put some diaper rash cream ( Desitin or Aveeno) on it.This should soothe it and stop her from licking it so much,or you can use cornstarch or even athletes foot powder or Monistat,if you have it on hand. Then, start saving 10 dollars a week,so you can get her to a vet to be spayed!
