Did you get your kitty spayed? Usually your vet can do it while she's under anesthesia for that, and then you don't have to worry about it! But if she already is spayed, I'd call your vet and then your local animal shelters and see who offers the best prices for chipping. Just make sure if you do the animal shelter, that someone knows exactly what they're doing. :-)
Chipping is definitely a good idea, in fact, I can't think of one reason why it could be considered a bad thing. But as someone else mentioned, if your kitty wanders off and someone else picks her up without a collar, that person might keep her. Still, that is a long shot and if your cat won't wear a collar, don't force it (esp. if her jaw almost broke, yikes!!). You could try every so often to slip it on her, maybe when she's sleeping and calm, but if not, then at least you have the chipping and hopefully if she does wander off, she won't go far and everyone will know she's yours. Good luck, and thanks for being a responsible owner. :-)

Having your kitty microchipped is a great idea, with or without a collar. Some clinics have reduced prices, so you might want to call around. In any case, $60 is a small price to pay for knowing that if she gets lost, she's got a much better chance of being returned to you.
Your kitty sounds like our youngest kitten, who also has a really wild look about him but is really loving.

Chipped is defintely a needed thing, if you take it to some place like the humane society its less then 60
If it ever gets lost and gets picked up by a shelter that is the first thing they do(scan it)
The only downfall to kitty being chipped and not having a collar is usually when people find a lost cat and it doesnt have a collar they just keep it.

I don't know where you live, but in some areas the Animal Shelters will have Low Cost or Free Shot & Micrchip Clinics. You may want to check that out. You're much better off with a chip with an outdoor cat. They can hang themselves with collar. Your Kitty was smart not to like it. All the best;~)

Chipping her is a great idea, but don't stop trying to make her wear a collar. We were transferred to Mexico and I brought my cats here, and at the beginning I was afraid they could get lost so I tried different collars and they would get rid of them. The only one that worked (although they got tangled some few times at the beginning) was one of those in which they not only put their heads in but also their front legs and chest. After some few days they got used to it and they finally gave up trying to take it off. Just have some patience, check her often & when you see her trying to take it off tell her not to do so.

I have a male cat that simply refuses to wear a collar. I have tried a variety of sizes and styles. He is a regular Houdini. By all means get her chipped.
