I have a male kitten (approx. 4 1/2 months old) and his mom. At what age will he start spraying? I plan to get him fixed... just wanna know what age they start to do this. And at what age does a vet fix males? Thanks.

The average age is about six months, although I have known it to be sooner. Cotacta vet to be sure.

Most vets want to wait till 6 months. This is usually fine, males don't usually start spraying until after 6 months.

But, if you want to be on the super safe side, if you can find a vet that will fix at 5 months, then that would be great.

A male fixed BEFORE he starts spraying never will spray. A male fixed AFTER he starts spraying may not stop. Neuter 6 months at the OLDEST and you should be fine.

They usually start to spray between 6 months to a year. Some vets neuter at 8 weeks some won't do it till 6 months..

The earliest most vets will neuter is 6 months old, and recommend getting it done at 6 months. The earlier the age, the more likely they will have side effects to the meds given to them during the procedure. They want them to be mature enough to handle it. Get him fixed at 6 months of age.

You can get him fixed any time now. Some vets will do it as early as 8 weeks of age. If you are concerned about spraying, I would consult with your vet and he or she may be able to do it right away.

Pretty much any time now. Most vets will neuter at the age he is now. Good idea to go ahead and schedule that appointment.

It depends on the cat, but my advice is get him neutered BEFORE he starts! BECAUSE getting him neutered afterwards, well he's already learned the behavior. If you do it beforehand, it's more likely he won't even start.
