I am considering leasing a horse. However, if the lease is very expensive, I will have to cut down on the number of lessons I have. At the moment I have 1 lesson a week. I am still a beginner.
My question is, should I lease this horse and ride 3 times a week teaching myself, or should I not lease him and continue weekly lessons?
My trainer said I need to ride more to make my legs stronger.
I just don't want to develop bad habits while riding on my own.
What do you think?

Which one of those 3 dogs do you think have the best agility and stamina? I have never owned a Bullmastiff or Rottie so I really don't know what they're like. Seems as if the Akita would have the lowest agility but possibly highest stamina, but I don't know. The thought was just on my mind when I was watching some dog agility course on tv and just wanted to know what you all think. That's all.

We found a parrot in our tree this morning. My husband was able to get it out of the tree and in a large crate. It has a band on it's leg. We called our vet and they are not able to help. I have been looking on line but not having much luck. Any suggestions?

i let him out last night for a couple hours which was a couple hours too long, he is appox 10 to 12 months old. at some point that night i heard a cat fight outside but didn't even think about Guss (the cat). when we looked for him he was no where to be found and he usually sits at the door waiting to be let in, but he wasn't.

i have no clue if he is dead or alive and im trying to imagine where he would be. where do you think a young cat might be at after getting into a fight with another cat and being locked out of his house??

please, i am willing to read anything. thank you...

If there was Miss Universe for cats my cat will definately be in Top 10 place. Well I am worried about her as she is so beautiful , already some male cats in the neighborhood have been 'hitting' on her. Should I be worried about her safety ??

Can anyone help? My cat had a bad limp last week. He then went outside and didnt come back for about 4 days. When he came back his leg was even worse and he has a sack of fluid (possibly and absess) by his leg. I called the vet and it will cost close to $400 to fix him if its not to late. I really cannot afford that. I feel horrible and am losing sleep because my poor cat is in pain. How can I make him more comftorable or what can I do for him to help? I think he may be dying. I applied a warm pack to it in hopes it will drain. Any help would be great. Thanks you.

We found 4 kittens in our yard 4 weeks ago. I would say by now they are around 5-6 weeks old. We have noticed the past three days the mom cat is no where to be found. I know over a peiord of time the mom would leave but i just wonder why they do that. Plus, how does a mom cat know when to walk away from her babies?

Dogs are a real nuisance if not properly controlled.

They cause havoc in the countryside because the majority of non-farming countryside dwellers leave their dogs loose in the garden to bark all day whilst they go off to work in town.

The dogs get out and kill sheep and wildlife, stampede horses and kill chickens.

If they were licenced, they should carry a metal tag that could be traced to there owners and the appropriate penalties applied. Nowadays, it is left to the local authoraties to oversee dog control, but they are hopeless at it because they only provide a very small number of dog wardens. Our county has only two!

Farmers have a right to shoot any dog that enters his land, but he has no way of getting compensation because there is no way of identifying the owner.

i found it disturbing that my vet IMMEDIETLY advised amputation after literally 10 seconds of inspection. my dog is very furry so that would make it harder. the area did look a little bruised and blood could be seen (NOT pouring out, at the end of the tail) but it had no obvious kinks in it. why didnt my vet even SUGGEST an x-ray. he said only to amputate, he even booked us in after a TOTAL of 3 minutes of inspection (including injecting pain killers, antibiotic and weighing him)
the vet drives a brand new x5 (new model) so maybe hes looking for money?
what else could of happened? bruised muscles, could a splint help in fixing a dislocation, break? or is amputation the ONLY way to go?

th vet also took my dog away from me for the night, is this normal? why couldnt we drop him back the next morning? did he NOT want us to inspect the tail?

i dont intend on fixing this myself, but i dont want my baby to lose his tail if he doesnt have to!!

At first we thought she had been bit by a dog, or another animal, but it looks now as if its a scratch. It's not very red, nor as swollen as it was. But her left leg is bigger/fatter than the other. She had a temperature, but now its gone down, a lot. She doesn't want to put pressure on the leg, such as stand up. She just wants to lay on the bed with a towel covering her. Which we allow her. I keep feeding her, but she doesn't want to eat out of a bowl or cup. She just eats it out of my hand. I dont know what to do, and I know everyone here is going to say take her to the vet, which will happen. But is there anything else? Will it pass? Thanks!!

Why is it that my horse has no problem in "letting it all hang out" when I ride past a gang of guys outside a pub ( even if we're trotting ! )
But the minute he sees a rubber glove he's Mr Shy ??

My boyfriend loves dogs. He has always had dogs around when growing up, and he has always dreamed of having dogs when he finally moves into a house (we live in an apartment now).

I love animals, but I really don't ever want a dog. Especially a big dog, like my boyfriend wants! I don't want to insult any dog lovers, so I won't say why, but let's just say that although I like dogs, I'm more of a cat lover! In my opinion, having a dog is almost like having a child!

I'm just interested in people's opinions on this. I would most likely just say yes, because he's always wanted a dog of his own and I don't think it would be fair to take that away from him. Have you ever been in a similar position? What did you do?

I am a male and I live in a studio apartment with my female cat. Well , I sometimes feel weird changing clothes infront of my cat after I take a shower. My cat glares at me up and down when i am naked and then she seems to makes a face at me. I feel embarrassed and shy sometimes - is it morally ok to change clothes infront of my female cat ? Thanks
