Why is it that my horse has no problem in "letting it all hang out" when I ride past a gang of guys outside a pub ( even if we're trotting ! )
But the minute he sees a rubber glove he's Mr Shy ??

Well, my answer only really matters is if the actual problem is that you need to break your horse of his habit of "being shy" around the glove. You need to retrain him to unsheath when you need to collect or even clean him. Our professor uses estrus mare urine to help our stallions at school unsheath as well as using pressure on their more caudal (towards their butt) area of their abdomens. Both of our stallions drop on command.

i think you should do some groundwork and when he lets it "hang all out" tap his belly to remind him to focus

or anothe solution would be to always carry a rubber glove :D lol

You must, must, must read the sheath cleaning instructions at
http://www.equusite.com, go to "health care" then "sheath cleaning."

The 2nd one, by Patricia Harris. Still giggling.
