i let him out last night for a couple hours which was a couple hours too long, he is appox 10 to 12 months old. at some point that night i heard a cat fight outside but didn't even think about Guss (the cat). when we looked for him he was no where to be found and he usually sits at the door waiting to be let in, but he wasn't.

i have no clue if he is dead or alive and im trying to imagine where he would be. where do you think a young cat might be at after getting into a fight with another cat and being locked out of his house??

please, i am willing to read anything. thank you...

Check any sheds or outside buildings, hedges, bushes - basically anywhere that he might be able to hide. Ask all of your neighbours if they've seen him and if they could check their gardens too . If they're not at home post a note through their door with a description or photo of him. If there are cars parked nearby, check those too, as cats will often crawl up into the engine space. Walk around where you live, calling his name to see if he will respond. Call local vets and animal welfare centres just in case he may have been taken there by someone.

I have two indoor cats, both of whom sneaked out on one occasion. Sophie sat crying in a small tree waiting for me to rescue her, but Merlin disappeared into the engine space of a parked car.

I hope you find him soon. Good luck

Cats go crazy places.

It's difficult to make cats do things. My main concern would be that whatever cat was fighting with him might take over your yard and intimidate him into not coming back. You may want to find that cat's owner and ask them to keep him/her inside for a few days.

If he is hungry/lonely, hopefully he will come back. He may just be hiding in the bushes in the yard. He also may have found somewhere else to go and been taken in. If he has a collar, someone may pick him up and give you a call.

I know it's hard but try not to worry. Cats wander off sometimes. Male cats especially. I once had one go missing for 10 days. They have a good sense of direction so rarely get lost but sometimes they just decide to explore for a while.

if he was fighting he may not have been the instigator, he could be on the prowl for a female, and could be missing for days..he could well be asleep somewhere, as he ever been let out before? if he as he will find his way home if he is ok.If your really worried ring shelters ec to see if they have him or look up on the internet tips for finding a lost cat...oh and if he is an indoor cat and he comes back, keep him in next time

He may have been picked up. Call the shelters. Also if he's friendly check the neighbors to see if little sister adopted your boyfriend's cat.

That was not bright of you friend. The cat could be injured or dead. Cats will not return home when wounded or dying, the go off to have a "private death". Don't expect to see him again. That poor cat, honestly what were you thinking?

Hiding, following a lady somewhere else, run away and got lost, practically anything. If i were you, I'd let the door open for him andgo out to look around. Good luck.
