I have been raising my guppies for 2 years now. i started with a 10 gallon and now have a 20 gallon and 3 10 from all the births, but i just had the weirdest batch i have ever gotten. double headed fish. most of the fish died though only about 6 survived. So one was 2 headed. 1 was swiming upside down. One came out black, the 2 others were stuck together. the mom died throught birth and in about 4 weeks all the guppies died. what happened?

My dog is apx 6 years old (we adopted her so we arent sure of her real age). she is pretty over weight but not because we over feed her. she does not like to play! walking her isnt very easy because i have 3 1/2 yr old daughter and an almost 7 month old son to tend to. we always have her outside w/ us. we try to get her to play ball and run around but she only does it for about 3 mins tops! we buy her toys... does nothing to help. she is a "sitter" as our groomer says. she doesnt jump around she just sits! its been over a year since we got her and her vet says she is healthy, just over weight. any suggestions?

I jsut got a few cichlids and they are extremely shy. They are Kribensis and Dwarf Jewel fish, both african cichlids. Thy seems to get along well. have lots of caves and hiding spots but they never come out.. Was it a bad thing to make so many caves? The water condition is perfect for them, I been checking and researching, the pH, temperature, hardness, etc.I turned my light off for yesterday so they won't be as startled. They seem conpletely terrified and will not eat. My dither fish, even though they are active, they only stay on top ad I don't even know if my new cichlids see them. My managed to feed my jewel by holding the fozen blok worm on the chopstick, but not any or my Kribs. They seemed pretty healthy when I got them, though..

Is there anything I can do to help them settle and get used to the environment? Can something be wrong with them or me? I did everything I can but nothing seem to help.. I feel bad.. It's a sad situation :[

Please HELP!!!
thanks very much!

I have 2 10inc ID sharks and when they were in my 54 gal tank they were doing good swimming and eating and all. I have now moved them to my new 110gal tank and they are both sitting on the bottom of the tank not moving much but still eating and looks like they are breathing heavy! I thought that the bigger the tank the better it was for the sharks? There is nothing new in the tank other then the plastic plants. same fish with them and everything else!! HELP ME I DON'T WANT THEM TO DIE!!!!!!!! What is the right temp for them? 72 to 80?

This is algae right? It is on the inside of the glass. My tank is 2.5gallons, contains a single fish, some snails and moss which has turned brown..

This is natural right? isn't this supposed to be good for the tank?

Do i clean it or just leave it alone?

I just noticed that algae is growing in the filter for the fish tank. I have 2 algae eaters that cant get in there. Its not on the filter parts that I can change, but on the spout where the water comes out. Should I just leave it? Is some algae healthy for tanks? I picked at it tonight and it came off in chunks... really gross... what should I do?

I have 2 chow/labs-- brothers that are 11 months. One is gold, Billy, and the other is white, Charmin. Around May, I began to notice some pinkish color slightly around Charmin's eyes. Then, this afternoon, I started a small fire in the backyard which the dogs quickly investigated. When Charmin came in, we were cuddling when my husband noticed his left eye is pink and the skin around it is pink. He has some (not a lot) greenish discharge and he is tearing a bit. I'm positive that it is conjunctivitis, probably related to allergies, since he has had the slight pink around his eyelid this spring and summer.

I am curious, because many websites recommend simply using a mild saline eye drop or a lubricant to help clean tears. Anyone else experienced this before and had success with an OTC product? I know that if it continues, I will bring him to the vet, but must be cost conscious first.

A friend said white animals are more prone to conjunctivitis. True or false?

Yes i have a female. I have put them in a tank together and i think those are eggs. He becomes very protective of it and trys to hurt the female badly when she gets near his bubble nest. Maybe it is the lighting that makes them look orange. i checked to see if it was food but its not. I feed them in a different tank anyway. It's not snail eggs because they are really small and scattered about in different directions (unlike snail's eggs) and i'm pretty sure it is not mosquito larva (sp?). Please help me.

My daughter just got a baby ball python two weeks ago. It will not eat, and now its belly is soft and sunken in. When you touch the belly stuff comes out of him where he goes to the bathroom. Also he is holding his head on its side in the air and is tending to lean on his side rather then his belly. The day we bought him we found mites and took him back to be treated changed his bedding and then the next day retreated and changed his bedding. What should I do?

I was just wondering if you had a funny blooper moment with horse and thought it was funny to share with the general puplic?

For myself, I am a city guy with limited contact with horses. When I was a teenager, I remember going out to my friend's grandfather's farm. There was a horse tied to the post out there. Approaching the horse from behind, I started to pet him at the lower back. My friend said, "Don't pet horses from behind." Then I said why? And the very next second, wham that horse back kicked me in the shin. Luckily, it didn't hurt too bad and he didn't kick me any higher!:0

Trial and error, the only way I learn on a farm.

I'm babysitting my friend's betta fish while she's on vacation. And she gave me a bag of those "betta bites" they're REALLY tiny. she said to feed him one in the morning and one at night, but I put one in a few hours ago and he's still not eating it. What's wrong with him? I will keep updating this question throughout the night, but if you have any info, please let me know. I don't want to be held responsible if he dies! I have absolutely no experience in the betta department. He's living in a small bowl next to out television, the bowl has a light, should I put it on or off? Also, he always sits on the bottom of the bowl and barely moves. Please help!

I have a large tortoise that eats the grass as main staple. The grass has a rust colored fungus growing all over it that needs to be treated safely.

My boyfriend bought commercial fungicide to treat it, and I feel it is harmful to my tortoise. We are in conflict about this.

Anyone have suggestions to treat the fungus without harming an animal that eats the grass?

Thanks

He's over a year old and almost always goes when we take him out but there are times when he'll just go on the floor and it's always by the front door. He doesn't let us know though.
