Its pronounced "Doxen"
Thats why their nickname is "Doxy"

I dont know how you or your friend got the name "Dodson" because the only "D" in the name is at the very beginning.

It's definitely dox-en. I don't know where dodson came from. There are only 2 d's, one in front and one in back.

Here in America,it is pronounced doxen,in German it is dox hoont.Yet,in English it is probably best to pronounce it dox hun.

Dachs-hundt. Really. It's German. Or you can just call them wiener dogs and everyone will know what breed you mean.

They are very cool dogs.
