It takes about 3 to 4 weeks. My sister breeds frogs and what they eat in case your wondering is cooked lettuce leaves. The leaves you usually throw away on the outside of the lettuce are the ones to cook up in a pot for 5 to 10 minutes, run some cold water on them, then give the tadpoles one big leaf a day. By the time they are finished with it, all you see are the white veins left of that lettuce leaf. They just love it. Cheers and good luck.

It depends on the frog, for some types it take only a matter of weeks, others can take years. I had bullfrog tadpoles that took two years to begin to change.

When pigs fly?
No seriously...

I don't remember how long it takes.
However, I remember watching the process as a little boy.
It is fascinating!
The tadpoles will slowly grow hind legs, yet will still swim around like normal. Then the front legs will develop. The last thing to occur will be the shrinking of the tail. Then you have a bunch of tiny frog babies hopping about.
I don't remember exactly how long the process takes. It occurs over a period of several days. Don't miss it. It's very interesting.

It depends on the breed. Bullfrog tadpoles often "winter over" other breeds can develop in part of a season.

Bullfrogs are one of the few species that overwinter as tadpoles and transform in their second year.
