Do Shih Tzu's ever come in solid colors? Mine is nearly all white except for a touch of apricot on tips of ears and back.

I am getting a more powerful gravel cleaner next week. It will help me with the constant water changes I need to do. However, it suctions water straight from the facet! Should I suction the water into a bucket, and then put in dechlorinator, and then put it into the tank? I read some people say they put dechloriator in as the water goes in, but is that safe if my goldfish are still in the tank? Also, I read that it's good to leave water out for 24 hours, but with my 50 gallon tank, even with partial water changes that seems to be unlikely to accomplish unless I have several gallons of water sitting around all the time. Is that feasible? What is a safe, but efficient way to do my water changes. thanks!!!!

I just inhereted a few new goldfish. They are VERY cute, two orandas and one ryukin. However, I have a 50 gallon tank! And I am afraid to upgrade until I move in a bit. How long can 9!! goldfish live in a 50 gallon, if they are tiny babies? Is it safe for me to consider a second 50 gallon in a second story apartment? I love these guys and I can't give them up, but this is a big problem! What would you do? I have nursed the new ones to health and am attached. .. would love a bigger aquarium but if they can hang out in 50 until its safe to go big that would be good (I dont mind daily changes, I am doing that now). I also can get a second tank, and put it elsewhere, if that is a good alternative. Help lol!

Our 3 year old medium sized mixed breed (a "Heinz 57", or perhaps more like 157!) came to us as a rescue quite some time ago. She not seem to defaecate in one spot. She goes just a little bit, then walks around all hunched up like she's trying to go but can't get it out. In fact, sometimes she actually does stop, it looks like she's trying to go, and nothing comes out.

She'll then walk a few more steps, or even a whole lot of steps, until she eventually does eliminate a little bit more. This strange hunch-walk-poop procedure is repeated several times over the course of 5-10 minutes until she's finally done going.

Her bowel movements seem normal otherwise, not too hard nor too soft. She is current on shots, so worms don't seem likely. Any (serious) ideas as to what could be causing this? Could someone have perhaps kicked her in the rear in her earlier years and harmed her somehow? Or maybe abused her for pooping and she's just afraid to go?

I would like to know your story regarding neutering a dog, because I want to know the difference between the aggression level of a dog before and after he gets neutered.

My dog is about 7 months old now and I have noticed his aggression level has been really increasing lately... Is it due to his man hood to seek mates? Thanks

They are both female. Cleo is upset. She will act curious and follow Schatze around but if she gets too close Cleo will hiss and swat at her. Of course we are giving Cleo lots of extra attention. I know Cleo needs time to get used to having another cat in the house. I was just curious on the average time it may take or if there is anything we can do to help the process along??

Is it normal for my cat to bite me? He goes for my fingers, my wrist and my lower arm. I've had him for 2 weeks. When I first got him he would nibble on my hand but he wouldn't BITE me hard. Now that's all he seems to do. What do I do?

I'm gonna get a dog soon, not sure what kind. But I want to know everything you can tell me about showing your dog. Agility, Obedience, Weight Pulling. What are the best dogs for each thing? What are all the subjects you can compete your dog at? How long does it take to train it? At what age should you start training it for competing? I am 12 years old, will that have anything to do with my ability to show the dog? Will it limit my ability at what I can show it doing? What dogs tend to be the best for each subject? I'm thinking Rottweiler, or Staffordshire(Either Am, or Bull) or a Boxer, or a American Bulldog, if I can convince my parents to get one. What subjects do they tend to be best at? Like I said... everything you can possibly, and are willing to tell me.

Please tell me anything you might know. Even if it's not much, or it's just a link or two. I'd really appreciate it. And I thank you to anyone who answers this.

I've done all the research possible on sugar gliders, be it online or from books. I'm getting a pair tomorrow. I was just wondering if any owners could give me any adive, any advice at all, or tell me their experiance with these animals. Also, please don't bother telling me they smell bad. I'm sick of these responses about small animals. The only reason any animal smells bad is because the owners lack of care and neglecting to change them.

I am looking to purchase a small young Amia Calva for an empty aquarium. I have tried netting lakes only to get larger ones. Does anyone know any sellers out there, I live outside of Buffalo if that helps.

I will be the one looking after it as I always have with pets. I had a rabbit which he bought me for Christmas and I did everything for her. I once asked him to feed her while i was away overnight and I came home and she didn't even have any water! She went missing over a month ago so I already have everything for a guinea pig. I understand a parent saying no to their child for a pet, but can a husband say no to his wife about a pet?

I recently took my dog to the vet. He was showing signs of Cushing's Disease(drinking lots of water, lethargic, pot belly). His bloood test has a high enzyme count in the liver. He has to go back in next week for the Cushing's test which involves fasting, then two different tests within eight hours. What kind of life can a dog have with Cushing's Disease? Will it be a good quality life? How often will he need to go in for the doctor to monitor his blood tests?

Do you think your dog is aware of what's going on? That there's more going on than immediate impulse, need, and reaction? What about when dogs are just idly sitting there, what's going on in their head? It can't be nothing...

My 13 year old cat, Flower, was crying night before last...she does that big MEOW when she wants to go outside, but I took her into my bed because she seemed different. Yesterday, she didn't want to eat (she's the first one to go to the kitty food) she's the fattest out of our six kitties. Anyway, I took her to the vet today, she has a severe kidney infection and has hepatitis because of the kidney infection. She is on Ciproflaxin IV and the vet tech said she is doing better tonight. I love this girl so much, he said that we still have to rule out cancer.

Do you have any experience with this? I don't want Flower to suffer, she is such a special cat...any words of advice are greatly appreciated, please and thank you so much. I know she will be fine, but I have to wait until Saturday for the vet's diagnosis.

My friends chihuahua has some kind of rash on its butt. And it's slowly spreading, and the dog is losing hair. I told him to take it to the vet, and I'm pretty sure he's gonna, but can you give me an idea as to what this might be? I suggested it might be mange. But I'm not sure.
